MAY2023

For Rhiannon, the weekend had arrived quicker than she could have imagined, her schedule was packed with obligations and social engagements that kept her moving from one event to the next.

Miranda, James, and Kirby had opted to stay at a hotel with the rest of the Red Bull crew, but Rhiannon had the luxury of staying at her father's place. Not that she had spent much time there since arriving in Monaco on Tuesday. The minute she arrived, she met up with Pierre and Charles, the three of them taking his boat out for a day on the water.

By Wednesday, she was indulging in a spa day with Alexandra and Kika, soaking up the relaxation and catching up on the latest paddock gossip. Despite her openness with the girls, there was one topic Rhiannon avoided— Max.

Thursday was media day. Instead of being in the media pen, Rhiannon was part of the press conference second group alongside Pierre and Charles. When they met outside the room where the conference was to be held, the trio couldn't resist discussing the latest rumors in the paddock.

"J'sais qu'ils vont me poser la question," Charles muttered under his breath, his frustration clear. (I know they are going to ask me about it.)

"Ces charognards." Rhiannon rolled her eyes, her French flowing with ease. "Je déteste faire ces stupides conférences de presse, ils demandent toujours les quatre mêmes choses et regardent les jacasser sans cesse sur les messages radios de Verstappen, et poser la même question encore et encore." (Vultures. I hate these stupid press conferences; they always ask the same four things and watch them bring up Verstappen's radio over and over as a question.)

"Ils vont ressortir l'article qui t'appelle la It Girl de la grille," Pierre added with a smirk. (They're going to bring up that article that called you the 'it girl' of the grid.)

"Je déteste cet endroit," Rhiannon groaned. (I hate it here.)

Just then, Lewis Hamilton and Alex Albon, the last two drivers in their group, joined them. After exchanging quick greetings, they were ushered inside to take their seats for the press conference. Rhiannon settled at the end of the couch, Charles to her right, Pierre beside him, with Lewis and Alex rounding out the group.

Tom Clarkson, the moderator, smiled warmly at the group before starting the conference. The first question was directed at Charles, the local hero, about racing on his home streets, his luck in Monaco, and his thoughts on making a difference from last year.
