"Reo..."

"Nagi?"

"I miss you..."

It's been five years since then. Reo's father threatened to stop sponsoring the project if they didn't let him take Reo out of Blue Lock. Reo himself barely even remembered how the conversation went down since his mind just kept replaying the moment Nagi left with Isagi and Bachira.

When Nagi heard that Reo was forced to leave Blue Lock he rushed to Reo's room in hopes of saying a last goodbye.

He was too late. Reo was already gone.

A month later, Reo left abroad for college. It was a new chapter of his life and he decided to try making a new life for himself. Despite all the new friends he made and jobs he took on along side his studies, there was always Nagi in the back of his mind. As much as he tried to lock those precious memories away, they'd always come back to him.

It hurt. He was hurting inside. Part of him hoped Nagi was hurting inside too. But he knew better than to hope for something so far beyond the bounds of possibility.

After graduating college, Reo returned to Japan. He still had connections with Yukimiya and Chigiri from Blue Lock. Upon his return, Yukimiya was kind enough to pick him up from the airport and drive him to his place. That night as Reo lie on his bed he received a text from Chigiri.

"heyy reo! bachira's hosting a blue lock reunion party tomorrow night wanna come?"

Reo stared at the message for what felt like a century. His mind racing at 200 miles per hour: reunion? Does that mean Nagi will be there? What if I see him? What will I do? What will I say- what can I say? Do I really want to face him?

Chigiri must've understood what Reo was thinking because he texted again: "nagi will be there but u dont have to talk to him. i think u should still come! we all haven't seen u in forever since u just up and went without a word."

"Idk Chigiri... I'm not sure if I can face him after all these years of no contact"

"come onnnnn reoooo, at least show up for like 30 mins and then u can dip if u rlly cant stand it"

"Okok, I will"

"yess cya tmr"

Reo sighed and stared at the ceiling. Why did I say yes? I guess it's just 30 minutes and then I can dip. With that Reo got ready to sleep only to lay awake in bed until 5 AM.

Reo woke up at 1 PM in a horrible mood. He had dark eye bags. His face was stained with salty tears. His hair looked atrocious. By the time Reo finished getting ready for the day -- or more like afternoon -- it was almost 2:30 PM. He spent another half hour choosing what to wear to the party. Finally, Reo hopped in the car and looked at his watch; it said 3 PM sharp. The party started at 4 and it was an hour and a half drive across town. Great, he was already going to be 30 minutes late. Before hitting the road, Reo texted Chigiri that he'd be late.

It wasn't until Reo made it to Bachira's front door that he realized he was in desperate need of food. The last time he'd eaten was 23 hours ago. He held his fist against door hesitantly but before he could get even one knock in, the door swung wide open. Reo stood shocked with his fist up as he was greeted by an overly enthusiastic Bachira Meguru.

"REO! YOU MADE IT!!" Bachira exclaimed.

Chigiri poked his head from behind, "Hey, someone's half an hour late!"

"I texted you that I'd be late."

"30 minutes late though? What were you doing?"

"Traffic was not on my side, okay?" Reo said as he took his shoes off. Bachira led him to the living room where Reo immediately met the lazy eyes of a familiar white-haired genius. Reo quickly looked away plastering his polished business smile while greeting the other former Blue Lock players.

"Hey you look really tired, Reo. Have you been taking care of your health?" Yukimiya asked out of genuine concern.

Reo replied "It's just the jetlag, it's no big deal."

Isagi entered from the kitchen with a cup of lemonade, "Here have some, made from fresh lemons!" Reo accepted the lemonade hesitantly. There's no need for me to hate this guy, right? It's not like it was his fault in the first place. It wasn't even Nagi's. It's mine for not being good enough for him. It's all my fault, no one else's. Reo thought as he sipped on the lemonade.

Later that evening, Reo was helping set the table for the big dinner. Chigiri and Reo were getting plates and silverware for everyone from the kitchen. Nagi walked in quietly, Chigiri noticed Nagi's presence and took it as a sign to leave the kitchen.

"Hey Chigiri, do you know where the spoons ar-" Reo turned before he could finish. Nagi stood gazing intensely.

"Reo..."

"Nagi?"

"I miss you..."
