This time, I'll take care of you

"Morning, Reo."

"Uhm Nagi could you um let go..." Reo tried prying Nagi's muscular arm off of him. Much to Reo's dismay Nagi didn't budge.

"Can't we stay like this a little longer? You're so warm, Reo."

At this point, Reo was as red as a tomato and he felt his body grow hot. "Reo, what's wrong? You don't like it?" Nagi pulled back to get a good look at the shorter one's face.

"I think I should go," Reo pulled away from Nagi. He tried to climb off the bed, but Nagi held him back by the wrist.

"Reo..." said Nagi in a low voice, "can we talk?"

Reo didn't dare look back to see Nagi's expression. He didn't need to see those half open lazy eyes. He paused before tugging his wrist from Nagi's grip. "There's nothing to really talk about, is there?" Reo replied with his back to Nagi. The aforementioned stared blankly at his limp hand still outstretched towards Reo. He was so close yet so far and Nagi's heart ached like an old wound.

"At least give me your new number? Chigiri wouldn't give it to me, and I'm not asking that other guy." Nagi pleaded, "Please, Reo?"

"Alright, I'll give it to you... we can talk just not today, okay?" Reo conceded. After all these years he still couldn't say no to Nagi.

Nagi perked up at that, "thanks, Reo," he said smiling to himself.

Reo's heart warmed at the way Nagi said his name "Reo" the way it rolled off his tongue so naturally with minimal effort. Typical.

After changing into his clothes from the day prior, Reo fixed breakfast from the limited resources of Nagi's fridge. After finishing breakfast, Reo conceded to Nagi once more, allowing him to drive him to Bachira's place for the car they left there the night before. Nagi pulled up behind Reo's parked car. He looked over to the sleeping beauty in the passenger's seat. "Reo, we're here"

Reo stirred awake, "that was a surprisingly long ride."

"It's an hour drive from my place so, yeah."

"What district did you say you live in?" Reo inquired.

"XYZ"

"Oh... I live in XYZ too."

Nagi lit up, "then maybe we can meet up sometime later?"

"Maybe..." Reo replied half-heartedly, "thanks for the ride,"and before Nagi could utter a response, the passenger seat was empty.

Reo turned on the radio to distract himself from his thoughts as he drove. Nagi's car followed behind him. I guess we are headed the same direction.

"Never mind I find someone like you

I wish nothing the best for you

Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you said

Sometimes it lasts in love, sometimes it hurts instead"

Adele's lyrics floated in his mind even after the song ended. It was a reminder of him and Nagi. What's became of us? We're basically strangers to each other now...

Reo, too lost in his thoughts, was pulled back into reality when he heard a car honking aggressively. It was Nagi trying to get his attention. The road was tortuous and his tires were inches away from slipping off the road. Reo gasped and swerved left to recenter the vehicle, breathing heavy breaths. Nagi was taking over his mind to the point where he couldn't even drive straight. Reo's knuckles went white and his muscles were taut. Shivers crawled up his spine and Reo felt all warmth leave his body. He felt sick as he continued to strangle the wheel.

By the time Reo made it home, beads of sweat dotted his forehead, his vision was blurred, and he could barely walk straight. He stumbled out of the car and slammed into a muscular chest. His body trembled uncontrollably as strong arms supported him. A hand brushed purple strands out of his face and lightly touched his forehead. "You're hot," said a familiar voice. Reo thought he was delusional, there's no way Nagi would follow him home and be there in time to catch him from falling out of the car, right? Reo lifted his chin just enough to get a glimpse of those half-lidded eyes as his vision slowly faded to black.

Nagi watched as Reo lost consciousness in his arms. He almost fumbled at the sight, nearly dropping the poor guy, but managed to react in time. Nagi rummaged through Reo's pockets to find the house key and unlocked the front door with Reo thrown over his shoulder. Upon entering the cold, empty house, Nagi navigated his way up the stairs to the only room that looked like a bedroom. In a swift motion, the muscle man settled Reo's body onto the bed like he was the most fragile being in all of history. Purple strands of hair stuck to the sleeping beauty's face. Nagi went through Reo's drawers in search for medicine but instead found an old picture of Nagi and Reo from high school before Blue Lock. On the back were the words "We'll meet again" in Reo's handwriting. Nagi's eyes softened as he looked back at Reo, this time noticing the dark bags under his eye. It'd been five long years without seeing or hearing from Reo. Nagi had been hurting just as much as Reo -- if not more.

Nagi finally finds the medicine for Reo to take later. He changes Reo out of his clothes into a t-shirt and sweats he found in the closet, tucks him under the covers, and wets a small towel to place on Reo's forehead. Then, he just lays beside Reo as he admires the tranquility of Reo's sleeping expression, the rise an fall of his chest. Nagi has to distract himself from doing something he shouldn't with his mobile games. Every now and then, he steals a glance at the one beside him.

"This time, I'll take care of you."
