Sooooo..... I'm changing the POV from 3rd to 1st
Asma'
I walked through the door to find them all seated, Ya Maleek stood beside me, he mumbled a general greeting before walking out, leaving me all alone under their judging gazes, I walked in a bit more before saying my greetings, they all answered with sheer happiness except a man that had his eyes glued to the screen the jer- the man I'm married to
"Come here, come closer" a petite woman that looked as though she was in her forties called for me smiling, I smiled back before walking to where she sat on the chair, I settled on the ground opposite the man, well Asma, time to fake smile your way through this, I'm not the nicest and happiest person around people that aren't my immediate family but here we go, I have to make an impression, a good one
I smiled at a girl that looked a bit younger than me. She returned it with a big grin and a wave " how are you?" the woman asked "Alhamdullilah" I replied, I tried to keep my smile not so fake but guess what? Your girl failed
"excuse me please" mama said standing up "Asma, come, help me in the kitchen" Mama said, as if she saw my discomfort, I smiled about to stand up, but the woman's voice halted me "a'a let Hanifa and Eman go with you. She can't possibly enter the kitchen can she?" I inwardly rolled my eyes There goes my chance to escape, do your in-laws ever miss a chance to traumatize you? I just met them for god sake
"they are guests I can't possibly allow them to enter the kitchen and it's no problem it's not like she cares at all" mama said with a chuckle, yess mama "they will go with you. It's no big deal besides, we're all family and very soon that won't be any formalities"
It was as though they all planned it, they all stood up, including the woman leaving me and you know who alone, we sat like that in silence for almost five minutes 'what the hell do you say to someone you were forced to marry?'
"It's quite rude to use your phone with people around you" I said, starting to get annoyed, who does that? he took his precious time before he looked up I could see a questioning look in his face, his eyes looked at me with something like the ' I don't like you' look he continued using his phone, a big piece of jerk
His Majesty took his time before he spoke "I thought I told you to tell them you didn't want the marriage we had an agreement didn't we?" Wait.... Hold up.... The hell is he saying? Does he think I'm all 'Dora the explorer' about this? Hell no, I want to stay at home bro
"I hope you know that I am against this marriage as much as you are" I looked at him deep in the eyes just so the skunk gets it to his thick skull "it doesn't look like it"
"if not, I wouldn't be here" he added "well what do you want me to do?" I asked at his ridiculousness, making my voice to rise a bit, he frowned at that "you'll tell your parents you don't like me and you won't marry me" it sounded like a command but let's ignore that, if I had met maama and told her I won't marry him using the same tone he used wallahi I'll be saved from the marriage right into my grave
"are you drunk?" I asked something I picked up from Ya Maleek "excuse me?" he said with a raised eyebrow, I simply ignored him "it's too late now, and it's all up to you. You can divorce me. It would be the best for both of us. Besides, I would have rather stayed unmarried forever than be with you but yeah looks like there are other plans for me" the guy looked at me with confusion
He took a deep breath before asking me "are we married?" I would have taken it as a joke had it not been for his unwavering gaze waiting for an answer from me, he doesn't know?
"Is that a question? Are you being serious right now?" If this was to make him look like he had some humor, it wasn't working "so we are" he looked as though he was caging an emotion when I did not answer he said something that left me shocked "bloody hell" next thing I knew he left "girls aren't the only ones that get married without their consent" i mummmered to myself as he left
