SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE PAST AND THE PRESENT

CH 14 - TAKING CARE

They reached Joong's house and Dunk took Alan inside but there was no one and it was his first time visiting his house so he didn't know where there room was. Dunk called Joong and saw joong coming out of the room from upstairs, he quickly went up than joong led them inside the room. The moment Dunk came in he quickly rushed towards Rae and touched his forehead it was still hot and than looked at Zoe, he patted her head than got up

"Joong where's the kitchen ?" Dunk asked

"Its down, let me show you"

"Its okay you stay here look after Rae....Zoe show me the kitchen"

"Okay teacher" Zoe got up from the bed and took dunk to the kitchen

Dunk took some ice cubes from the fridge and cold water than put it on the small bowl, abd took a cotton cloth...he knew that small childrens fever gets down like this quickly since Alan had fever many times. When the two went up , joong got up and let dunk sit beside Rae while he looked after Alan and Zoe , Rae fell asleep hugging Dunk. He turned around looked at the three figure looking at them he sighed

"Joong I think you should make them have their lunch its almost 2pm "

"But Rae ...he haven't ate anything " Joong said

"One he gets up and feels good I will feed him don't worry, the kids might be hungry go"

"Teacher what about you ?" Zoe asked and Alan nodded too looking at him

"I will eat with Rae later, now you go with him " Dunk suggested

"Call me if you need anything" Joong said than took the kids downstairs

Dunk looked at Alan, his fever has gone down a little bit.....he checked his phone and there were missed calls from Phuwin so he called him back

(P'Dunk where were you?...I called you so many times, did you and Alan had your lunch ?) Phuwin asked

"Alan is having his lunch....I will eat later, actually phu we are not at home" Dunk said he knew Pond hadn't told him anything yet

(Than where are you phi ?, don't tell me you two are out again.....phi you know na Alan always eats junk food but still you take him out)

"No Phu, I took Alan to meet Rae and Zoe at their home'

(Oh.....okay phi than I will hang up, Pond is calling....I will meet you at home ...bye phi)

" un bye"

Dunk ended the call than looked at Rae who was staring at him, he realized that because of the phone he might have got up....dunk smiled at him and checked his temperature

"Rae are you feeling better now ?"

"Teacher.....water" Rae said his voice barely audible

"Yeah wait" Dunk took the glass of water and gave it to him

"Are you hungry Rae?" Dunk asked taking the glass from his hand

"Yes....teacher where is dad and Zoe?"

"Oh they are downstairs, lets go down I will feed you"

Rae smiled and hugged dunk, for the first time Rae felt home in dunk's embrace, before when he got fever he didn't like to let anyone know and only tell his grandma but now dunk is there so he feels happy. Dunk took Rae and went down, he saw joong playing with the kids so he went near them

"Hey champ how are you now ?...come here" joong saw Rae and went near him, he took him from dunk and kissed his cheek

"I am fine dad" Rea answered

He sat beside Alan and Zoe, the kids were talking about something while dunk went to kitchen to prepare some food for Rae, joong also followed him

"Why there's no one in your home ?" Dunk asked chopping vegetables for soup

"I gave the caretaker day off today, sorry for troubling you to look after Rae" joong said

"If its Zoe and Rae than you're not troubling me don't think like that....you can ask me whenever you need help" Dunk replied

"Than....come back to me Dunk...I need you" Joong asked looking at him with expectant eyes

"Joong theres nothing between us anymore...it would be better if you marry someone who can look after your kids ....they need time and care which maybe you cant give because of work"

"That someone is you....I want you to marry me dunk "

"Joong please stop....go and look after the kids, Rae is still weak" Dunk changed the topic than continued cooking

Joong knew if he says something more he will lose control and maybe dunk would never want to see him so he kept quiet and went to look after the kids. They didn't notice that Zoe heard about her dad asking to marry dunk, she smiled....so her dad also wanted to marry her teacher, Zoe giggled than went towards dunk who was cooking

"Teacher dunk....do you need help?" Zoe asked her mind still remembering what her dad said just now

"Hey you want to help me huh ?....come here"  Dunk took her and made her sit on the kitchen counter safely

"Teacher can I ask you something ?"

"Um you can but not that which you asked me in school okay " Dunk said and continued cooking

"Can....can I call you Dada, my friends and even Alan has two dad but Rae and I have only one .....I want to call you dada can we ?" Zoe asked

Actually Zoe really felt sad about this but never said it to anyone and she feels Rae thinks that too, so Zoe wanted Dunk to his dad so she decided to ask him.....but she was afraid if she was asking for too much so she spoke up again

"If its too much than I will not call you dada I am okay with calling you teacher too.....sorry if I made you angry" Zoe said than looked down

Dunk who heard this felt weak, he cant say no to them....he smiled its okay for him to call him that right ?....its not that he is their real dad so dunk agreed

"You can call me that but in school call me teacher even Alan calls me teacher right....apart from that its up to you and Rae whatever you want to call me ....happy ?"

"Thank you teacher ....no...thank youu dada, I love you" zoe hugged him

"I love you too....okay let me cook now your brother must be hungry "

"Eh I forgot...I will go check the boys " Zoe said than ran to look at the three boys

Dunk smiled this little girl really knows how to make him agree evrything ....maybe she got that from joong, but dunk wants to know who gave birth to them, though he can't ask joong or else joong will ask him questions too about why he left him
