The week went by fast and you are getting ready for the big date. As far as your concerned this date is your stepping stone to fame.
Walking out of your room Johnny looks back from the couch. "Aren't you supposed to be getting ready for your date?"
You look down at your typical T-shirt and jeans. "What is this not good?"
Johnny scoffs "I guess that depends on if you want a second date. Just throw on a collared shirt it should be fine."
You rush back into your room quickly throwing on a blue collared shirt that hugs your muscular arms and chest well. "Better?"
Johnny nods and laughs a little. "Alright and where are the flowers?"
"I was supposed to get flowers? First date they already get flowers?"
"It's a true wonder how you're single." Johnny says sarcastically.
"I've been busy." You defend while sliding on your shoes. Nearly forgetting them again.
Johnny rolls his eyes and looks back to the TV. "Yeah I know... You wanna be famous man."
You could tell he was annoyed. He was your best friend but the way you acted at times made you seem a bit shallow.
You don't notice his annoyed tone instead checking a message you just received from Jenna.
Jenna: You on your way?
Y/n: Yep almost there.
Quickly putting your phone in your pocket you rush out the door. No time to buy flowers now.
You pull up to the address Jenna had given you. You begin psyching yourself up to knock on the door. You didn't know why you were so nervous but you absolutely were. The door to the house opens and out walks Jenna wearing a T-shirt and jeans.
"Son of a-" you stop the sentence as the car door opens and Jenna sits down not hearing you.
"You know guys usually come up to the door to get their dates." She flashes a quick smile as she does her seat belt.
I begin to drive not really sure how to respond. You didn't want to admit that nerves almost got the better of you. "R-right I uh... Was gonna."
Well that didn't work.
Jenna looks out the window at passing cars. "Where are we going?"
You smile and push the cripplingly anxiety as deep as you possibly could. "You know Tony's tubular pizza?"
Jenna looks at you and for the first time since the date began gives a genuine smile. "Yeah the small place with the turtle statue right?"
You nod glad she knew the spot. "Yeah they got good old Mikey by the front."
Jenna chuckles a little. "Like the ninja turtle?"
"What can I say? I wasn't a very creative little kid." You say and look at her for a reaction.
Jenna gives you a look as to find out if you're joking. "You trying to tell me you named the turtle?"
You nod "My dad won some pizza eating contest when it first opened. I was like four and Tony himself let me name the turtle statue and gave us free pizza for life."
You finish with a smile recalling the story as you pull into the restaurant's parking lot.
Jenna looks at you with a curious look. Her smile falters for a moment but stays strong. "Is that why we're here? The food is free?"
You couldn't exactly tell what she was thinking. She truly was an incredible actress. "Well when you say it like that it sounds bad-"
She cuts you off as she opens the car door. "No no. I get it... Come on let's eat."
