You wake up in your bedroom, your fluffy sheets covering your body as the sunlight shines through you're curtains, it's a beautiful morning. You groan as you get up from your warm bed, walking to the bathroom to brush your teeth. You notice you're parents aren't up. Which is odd because they were always up before you on the weekends.
After brushing your teeth, you hear your cellphone ring loudly from your bedroom. You jump, startled since you haven't heard any other noise in the house besides yourself and the soft chirping of birds outside. You hurry across the hallway, picking up your phone, the screen said 'Amy'. Amy is your best friend who planned to have a party that evening at her house to celebrate her two year anniversary with her boyfriend Mike.
"Hello?" You say tiredly into the phone."Hey! ________ you awake? Sounds like you are!" she said giggling.
"Yeah, I'm awake. What's up?" you ask, it wasn't odd for Amy to be calling you up randomly like that, she was always in the need of attention.
"I'm so super excited for the party! Arent you? Anyways, remember to wear something pretty, don't wear that grey hoodie like you always do! Let loose a little" she said trying to sound upbeat.
"Well, I will try"
"Good! Everyone is wearing colors, try to fit in"
After a few minutes of talking, you two hung up. Sighing as you walked to your closet to find something that could cover your arms, to hide up the scars you put there. Cutting was your way of a coping mechanism for your depression now. You cut so deeply into your flesh you had thick, white scars up and down your arms.
There wasn't anything all that pretty, except for a black sundress. Which you aimlessly tossed to the floor along with others. You wanted to impress Amy, make her happy like you always did. Maybe even have a guy talk to you, if you weren't shy enough. Finally, you found you're last dress, it was jet black strapless, a little tight as it stopped at your knees with a red belt in the middle of your waist. You shrugged, knowing the rest were too small or ugly. Then slipping on some sandals, you shoved the rest of the clothes away.
You were beginning to have a weird feeling about the party, why was this? The feeling kept nipping your mind, like a little splinter you couldn't pull out. Was it because you were actually going to meet someone who noticed you rather than Amy? You doubted it. As always.
You were at the front door of Amy's house, you could hear yelling and laughter and music playing. Before you were about to knock, Amy popped her head out of the window suddenly as she grinned widely, waving at you like a fool.
"Hey! Come in! The door is unlocked!" She said as she climbed back inside, slamming the window shut.
You walked right on in, down the hallway you could see everyone was in the living room, lights flashed here and there along with the wild laughing and talking. You slowly walked down the hallway, looking at each family photo that was lined up neat and tidy, like her proper family would always do.
The living room was stunning. She had hung up a disco ball that turned slowly, the coloring lights reflecting off of the ball. There was a crap ton of people there, friends, friends of friends, and some of her family. Nothing seemed odd about it, except for the man who sat in the far corner. You squinted through the dark room to get a better look, he was wearing a white button down shirt with a long black tie, black pants that were ironed perfectly flat, his long shaggy black hair covering his features made it hard to tell who it was.
Amy suddenly jumped in front of you, she was smiling, wearing a long pink dress that touched her feet. As she looked you over, she frowned.
