The car ride to the police station felt like hours to Amelia even though it was only 10 minutes. The police tried to make small talk to her but failed. Amelia can't help but think that she will be a main suspect.
Amelia follows the police officer into the police station. It's so weird. She thought. Tons of different police men scurrying around. The officer leads me to a room with a table, 2 chairs, and a mirror on one side of the wall. Definitely a 2 way mirror Amelia thought.
A detective like man comes inside.
"Hello, I am detective Hawkins. You might know me as Jake's dad." He shakes hands with me. "What you went through was very traumatic but I need some information on this case. You can stop whenever you want."
Amelia nods. She recaps the entire story to the detective.
"Huh..." Detective Hawkins says rubbing his chin "Interesting story. But no worries. We'll find out the murderer in no time. I suggest you lawyer up while you're at it. When this case goes to the news, you're probably gonna be pretty famous. Try to avoid the reporters. Don't say anything you are not suppose to on camera. They might take your words out of context."
Amelia nods again.
"You should get going. Your parents are already informed of this." Detective Hawkins says. "Have a great day." He assures me out of the door.
Amelia walks out just to see her parents standing there.
"You need some major explaining to do." Her dad said.
"Okay..."
