Lycan shifted his arm towards Kane, his fist making contact to the side of his face. The blow to his face caused Kane to let go of Malia's hand, using it to wipe the blood that began to ooze from his lip.
"You really don't know who you're messing with do you?" Kane had a sinister smile on his face, his teeth stained red from blood.
Lycan crossed his arms over each other. "I don't really give a shit who you are". Kane launched himself towards Lycan, trying to land an attack. Lycan proceeded to effortlessly moved to the side, grabbing the back of Kane's head, using his momentum against him and smashed it against the diner table.
Malia observed Kane's body on the ground, inert. The entire diner was now looking in their direction, repulsion emergent across the series of faces. David's face becoming completely red from anger.
"Fuck I am so done for". Malia situated bother of her hands behind her back and began to untie her apron.
"MALIA! YOU'RE FIRED!" David jabbed his finger at her direction from across the counter. Malia walked towards the door and let her apron drop onto the greasy floor. "No David, I quit".

Malia started to advance in the direction of her apartment, catching the distant sound of footsteps following her. She crooked her neck slightly, spotting the two men from the diner tailing in pursuit closely.
"It's not nice to follow a woman you know". Malia hollered over her shoulder. Lycan and Jace both quickened their pace and were instantaneously in front of her. "We need to talk".
"I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means "no". Malia tried to walk past the two men but was stopped when Lycan's hand was placed on top of her shoulder. Malia glowered at the hand that blocked her movement, her gaze then falling onto Lycan's vivid hazel eyes.
"Get. Your. Hand. Off. Me". Lycan raised his hand in the air in forfeit. "Fine, but we have some questions that need answers."
Malia sighed, moving her weight to one leg and folding her arms over. "You have 2 minutes".
"Have you been undergoing anything recently? Within the last day or so?"
"What do you mean?" Malia looking clearly puzzled by Lycan's question.
"Any headaches? Body aches? Smelling things you couldn't normally?"
Malia's face looked shocked, but she swiftly regained composure by hosting a blank stare. "Nope".
Lycan exhaled in frustration, sceptical of her answer. "I need the truth".
"And you got it, now goodbye, your 2 minutes are up". Malia began to tread once again towards her apartment, leaving the 2 men behind her in the neon shadows of the diner's parking lot.
"Alpha?" Jace looked towards Lycan in apprehension.
"Get in the car, I don't believe her". Lycan moved in the direction of the car and sat in the driver's seat, turning on the ignition.

Malia threw herself on to the couch as soon as she entered through her apartment door. Her place of solitude wasn't at all flashy, the patinated and elegant wallpaper peeling off of the walls in every room. She threw a couple of logs onto the fire place, setting some newspaper on fire and setting it alight. She curled up on the couch and revelled in the warmness of the flames. She found herself playing with the gold heart locket around her neck, opening it and gaping down.
"I miss you so Mum and Dad". A tear began to descent down Malia's cheek, tickling her soft russet skin. Malia continued to reminisce, imagining the impossible; her mother and father coming to kiss her on the head as she went to bed.
A sigh fell through Malia's lips as she got off the couch and headed to her bedroom at the other end of the apartment. She was halted in her steps as a potent smell came for the air duct, it followed by inflicting intense pain throughout her entire body, leaving her to collapse onto the hardwood floor.
"FUCK!" Malia writhed in pain, curling onto a ball and placing her hand other her stomach. The pain was rapidly increasing and becoming harder to handle. Eventually her body became lull, as she fell victim to the darkness.

"Alpha, are you sure she went this way? I can't smell her anymore because of the-". Jace turned his nose up as the smell of smoke filled his senses. "smoke". Lycan turned his head rapidly, seeing flames starting to emerge and swallow one of the apartments.
Both Lycan and Jace immediately darted towards the building, kicking down the door with immense that it send the boor flying off its hinges. They were struck with the intoxicating smell making them falter and fall to their knees.
"Wolfs Bane". Lycan grunted standing up, visibly becoming severely weakened by the poison that was fluctuating in the air.
Lycan forced himself further into the apartment, his eyes falling of Malia's unconscious body in the middle of the hallway.
"Jace! Help me get her the fuck out of here!" Jace clumsily stumbled over, helping Lycan remover her from the swallowing flames.
They managed to haul her into the black SUV, taking a moment before heading back to the pack house.
"You're taking her straight there?" Jace quipped in asking.
"You smelt the amount of wolfs bane that was in her apartment, someone wanted her dead. And my guess is that it's because they know that she's about to turn". Jace nodded understandingly. "How long until the full moon?"
"3 hours".
