The door was broken in,11 year old Lucienne Saints head turned from her spot on the couch she felt a hand grab her arm and she turned to see her mom, "sweetie go hide in your room, and don't come out" her mom told her calmly but Lucienne could hear the fear in her voice, Lucienne shook her head, "Go now!" Her mom hurried her, Lucienne got up and ran to her room as she could hear her dad yelling.
Lucienne turned when she was at her door way peaking out of it to see her parents on their knees, men in suits with guns in front of her parents, Lucienne eyes widen when she sat a gun get put to her fathers head, she flinched and shut her eyes when she heard a gun shot, and her mothers horrified cries, Lucienne ran and hid in her closet curling up into a ball flinching when she heard another gun shot.
She rocked back and forth humming a lullaby her mother use to sing to her to calm herself, she was trembling in fear thinking that she was next, she was going to be killed by the men, she was going to die just like her parents.

Lucienne awoke in her bed in a cold sweat shaking, it was just a nightmare, but why did it feel so real.
She turned to see little 11 year old Evelia sitting by her looking at her worried, "Luci?.."
Lucienne gulped trying to remove the lump that forming in her throat, "They're dead.."
Evelias eyes widen as she stared at the older girl, "Who?..Luci who's dead?.."
Lucienne started to sob even though she was trying to hold back her tears it was like the flood gates just opened, "I couldn't save them..they're dead.."
Evelia stared at Lucienne confused, she noticed Lucienne was shaking, she pulled the sobbing older girl into her arms rubbing her back, "Luci it's okay..it was just a nightmare..your okay.."
Lucienne sobbed into Evelia shoulder, she knew it was a nightmare, she also knew it was her fault that her parents were gone, and it was her fault, she was cursed, cursed with this magic, maybe it was the reason her parents were killed.
