Season 2 episode 3 of rabbit hole Superstar Scene 1: Abandoned Science Lab Lounge
The room is a mix of old, disheveled technology and a few signs of recent habitation. The remnants of a once-bustling lab are now a quiet, eerie refuge. Koi, Jake, and A are lounging around an old, dusty couch that still seems surprisingly comfortable. They're trying to distract themselves from the looming threat of corruption.
Jake: (leaning back with a slight smile) Remember that time when I secretly went on that hunting trip and brought back a bag of goodies?
A: (with a hint of amusement) Yeah, I remember. Why?
Jake: (grinning) Well, we're running out of supplies, and I was thinking... A, why don't you go get some more?
Koi: (looking concerned) Why A? He's only been with us for two weeks, and the corruption is new to us all. Maybe I should go instead.
Jake: (gently, but firmly) No, Koi, you're too marshmallow-like for that sort of thing. I don't want you getting hurt.
Koi: (sighing) Fine.
A: (raising an eyebrow, a touch of annoyance) Fine.
There's a brief pause as the tension settles in the room. The air is thick with the unsaid, but for now, they accept the decision. A nods curtly and prepares to leave.
Jake: (trying to lighten the mood) Hey, let's not make this a big deal. We'll just hang out here and make the best of it.
Koi: (forcing a smile) Yeah, sure. Just be careful, okay?
A: (nodding) I'll be back soon.
A exits the room, the sound of their footsteps echoing off the old lab walls. Jake and Koi are left alone, the weight of the situation still hanging heavily over them.
Koi: (sitting down heavily) Do you think we're doing the right thing?
Jake: (sitting next to Koi) We don't have many options. We need those supplies, and A's capable.
Koi: (looking down) I just wish things were simpler.
Jake: (placing a reassuring hand on Koi's shoulder) So do I. But we'll get through this. Together.
Scene 2: Old Forest / Ballad Street
The scene shifts from the abandoned science lab lounge to the outskirts of an overgrown forest. Corruption has taken over much of the landscape, with dark, viscous puddles spreading across the ground. A cautiously navigates the treacherous terrain, his gaze scanning for any sign of safety or a hint of civilization.
A: (muttering to himself) Gotta be careful... Don't want to get stuck in one of these corruption pools.
As A maneuvers through the underbrush, he spots a small, unusual patch of concrete that seems almost out of place amidst the decay. Intrigued, he approaches the concrete, dodging the puddles of corruption that surround it.
A: (looking around) This looks like it might be something...
He steps cautiously onto the concrete, finding it surprisingly dry and clean compared to the surrounding area. The concrete leads to a street that appears to be part of an old, abandoned neighborhood. The remnants of homes and storefronts stand in eerie silence, but the concrete seems to be holding back the corruption.
A: (eyes widening) Ballad Street... I've heard of this place. It's supposed to be relatively safe.
He follows the concrete path until he reaches an old vending machine. The machine looks ancient, its glass panel cracked and faded, but it's still functioning. A smiles, knowing this will save him some trouble. He pulls out a stick from his bag and inserts it into the vending machine's coin slot.
