Call it fate, call it karma

After you and your band went out to talk to fans you get tired and fall asleep on a couch beside Josh. He had to get up to go help load stuff into the truck outside so he asked Rob to swap with him knowing what he was doing. "Right but you asked me to, I didn't do this voluntarily so you can't say I did it to get to talk to her" "Bobby I know you want to stay with her so I might aswell help you out a bit" Josh tells him. He got up and Bobby sat down beside her. He didn't really know what to do so he just sat there. A few minutes later he grabbed a blanket that was folded beside him. He gently put the blanket over you. Ryan was in the hallway when this happened and told all the lads about it when he went back outside. When you woke up you were suprised to see Rob and not Josh. He noticed that you were awake and tells you that all the lads went to go help outside. You sit up and grab your phone from the table in front of the couch. He slightly looks at your phone and notices that you were playing the strokes earlier. "So um I heard you like the strokes" "yeah I love them" "really? what's your favourite?" "oh definitely call it fate call it karma or 12:51 "oh no way that's my favourite too, I have a tattoo of it" he says as he shows you the tattoo on his arm. You reach out and rub his arm "that's so cool" you tell him. Eli walked in just then and says "well hello... I wasn't expecting you two to be here chatting and...whatnot." as he looks at Rob "yeah y/n was telling me that she likes the strokes" "oh really, who could've known." "...hey y/n who put that blanket there?" He says as he points to the blanket around your shoulders "I think Josh did" you answer "yeah sureee... Josh" he mumbles and then goes back outside. "What's he talking about?" you ask him "no idea honestly, Eli's just a weird guy I guess." By now you're sat up beside Rob with the blanket beside you and neither of you notice the time that's gone by "Do you want any food or any tea or anything?." " no thank you I'm fine" "are you sure you don't want any food? ...you haven't really eaten in a while" "really I'm fine but thank you" "if you need anything I'd be happy to help y/n" "you too Rob." All the lads and all of your bandmates walked in now and told you that they are going to go to a club in about an hour so you two decided to join them. You walked beside Josh and you guys talked the way there "so I heard you were talking to rob, like a lot" "I wouldn't say a lot, he just happens to be there when I am" "well, what do you think of him?" "he's really nice" "yeahhhh" "so what did you guys talk about?" "music and stuff, nothing really" "nothing really?" Josh replied. "Yep nothing really."

Once you all got to the club Ciara was asking you questions about Rob too. "So... you and rob huh" "ciaraaaa" "what I'm just stating the obvious?" she laughed. "To be fair though he seems nice" "yeah he is, he's really nice to me anyway." At a different part of the club Josh and Rob were talking. "She says you're nice" Josh tells him "really?" "yeah really nice."Rob smiles "well anyway, what did you guys talk about?" Josh asks " she told me that she likes the strokes" "is that all?" "yeah" "well...actually that's...not really everything" "oh? what else did she tell you? is she ok?" "she kinda um... told me about the whole food thing too" already?" "yeah, not all of it, just that she doesn't like eating in front of people" "oh ok, she didn't say anything else like that did she? like about her parents being or anything?" "no, why? what did her parents do?" "I can't really say but you can ask her, maybe when you get to know her a bit more." Josh tells him "does she have parents doesn't she?" Rob asked"well yeah but, not really to her." That left Rob wondering for a while about her parents. He saw you go outside so he went out too. You were sitting down on the ground. He sat down beside you and lit a cigarette."What are you doing out here?" he asks you "just taking a break" you respond "are you alright?" "Yeah I'm fine thanks, are you?" "I'm great" "good" it was a bit silent but not in an awkward way , it was perfect. In the club dance yrself clean by lcd soundsystem was playing. "So what are you doing tomorrow?" He asked you "tomorrow is our day off and because we're in our hometown they're all going to see their families. "Are you going to see your family" "oh Jesus no, well I could see my mam but I'm not really in the mood to argue" you responded. He got a bit suprised. "oh...what about your... father?" "no need for that, he wouldn't know who I am." "oh, sorry." "It's fine, it's not your fault." "So where does your mam live?" "She lives in Malahide now" "are you from Malahide?" "Oh no we're originally from Ballymun." "What's that like?" "It was alright I guess, Bono's from ballymun so people always kinda just talk about that. I actually lived near his old house." "Oh that's cool" "People thought my family had a lot of money because our house was kinda big but we really didn't. My mam was kinda the only one making money in the house because my 'father' definitely didn't pay anything, I don't even know where he is. Ballymun is still ballymun, it's not the docklands or anything but it's not that bad."

Inside the club the boys notice that once again you and Rob are both 'coincidentally' gone at the same time. They asked Ciara and Adaline (your bassist) where you had gone and your band said that you were gone outside for air. "Why is Rob gone too now?" Adaline asked jokingly "yeah he just so happens to be gone when she is, again." They all laugh and wait for them to come back.

Outside Rob's cigarette has just gone out with the wind and you and you two are still talking. You start braiding a little section of his hair. " you should go blond" "you think so?" He laughs "Yeah it would suit you really well" "maybe I will". You just finished braiding a part of his hair when a big gust of wind came by "are you cold?" He asks "a little bit" he took off his sweater and put it over you "oh you don't have to do that, you'll get cold"
"Don't worry about me, I'll be grand. You're the one who's doing a sold out tour, I wouldn't want you to be sick." You move in closer beside him and he puts his arm around you as you lean into him with your head on his shoulder. You both sit for a few minutes. Not moving. Not speaking. Just listening to the music from inside. After a while you two go inside again and each go to your groups both forgetting that you still have his sweater. When you sit down Ciara stares at you with a smile "what?" you ask her " y/n, who's sweater is that" "shit'" you think to yourself "umm... mine" you say "yeah so rob wasn't wearing that earlier then?" she asks sarcastically "umm...no" you tell her. Back at the other part of the club Rob sits down with all the lads. "Nice braid lad." Eli says teasing him "Shit I forgot about that." "and where's your jumper?" Eli asks him "uhhh" he says, confused quickly trying to think of something to say. Then they all see that you are wearing it "ohhhh I get it" Ryan says. "Fair play honestly, I didn't think you'd say anything" Josh tells him. "I had to, I couldn't not talk to her."
