God.
That's a topic I rarely find myself considering.
I would say religion is subjective; it's a compendium of values and beliefs. I've never worshipped a deity just for the sake of it.
Since waking up as a baby in this world, I find myself leaning more and more towards atheism. If there were a God, I'd expect to be greeted by a fiery pit of pain and agony rather than a man in a three-piece suit.
“We are here, sir." Elijah kindly informed as the car slowly came to a halt.
I sighed as I stepped out of the vehicle, a fake smile adorning my face to play the part.
The tall structure stood mightily, with crosses adorned on all its towers, the glass panels featuring multiple hues, and the wide-open wooden doors leading into the cathedral.
“Robby!” Mrs.Kim squealed as she walked out of the cathedral and saw me.
The Kim couple owns a supermarket right across from the cathedral, and my parents are major donors to the establishment.
People pay attention to wealthy folks doing charitable stuff, so my parents make sure we have a few trips each week to portray ourselves as a good, God-loving American family.
Arthur believes this will help when I have my hero debut.
I giggled and slow-jogged towards her, my senses automatically observing every inch of her in an instant.
The smell of rosemary and jasmine hit me strongly.
My eyes noticed the minor details: her plushy cheeks, beads of sweat from physical work, but no signs of dust or dirt on her hands, which was odd.
There was a fading handprint around her neck, her lips flapped at minute intervals, she has been fucked.
Her toes were curled, her nails dug against the palm, signs of frustration.
She didn't finish.
“Hi Mrs.Kim." I said as I stood close to her.
“Robby, how long has it been since I saw this cute little face?" Her lips curled up as she knelt down to my level and ruffled my hair.
I chuckled, playing the cute little kid she thought I was.
“Where are your folks?" She asked, noticing Elijah making his way towards us.
“They're at home." I smiled. “But I asked Elijah to take me to the church.”
“Oh, did you now?!" She smiled. “Hello, Mr. Elijah.”
“Mrs.Kim." He gave a slight bow in accordance.
“Fine, Robby, I will see you next time." She stood and dusted off her skirt.
“Goodbye, Mrs.Kim." I said, walking past her and into the building, Elijah closely following behind me this time.
“She sounds sweet, sir." He said as we walked towards the altar.
“She just fucked somebody here." I nonchalantly replied and continued.
It's easy to get fooled by an innocent exterior, but every human has a disgusting interior hidden away through layers.
“Robert." I heard for the second time today, somebody calling my name. This voice, however, was more familiar.
“Father Charles." I smiled as he walked towards us.
The smell of rosemary and jasmine again.
His left leg had a little drag, and his hand size matched the print.
