The Bureau of Magic was abuzz with preparations and whispers, traveling through the hallways and different rooms. Kaldo only knew that a Divine Visionary who had left the island for years, conducting their personal mission, was coming back. It's been more than five years, probably close to ten, but he never met them before.
All he knew was what they looked like, their picture propped up along the hallway named "The Divine Visionaries" and their title: The Star Cane.
Only Ryoh, Headmaster Wahlberg, and Vice Director Minister know them personally, while the rest were clueless.
Ryoh was handling the food and decorations in the dining area, arms crossed over the other as he admired the banner that he hung. Welcome back, Star Cane! it said in bold and capital letters, his own picture on the banner. As expected.
"Isn't this a welcoming party for Y/N? Why is your face in the banner instead of theirs?" Orter asked, way too tired to deal with the preparation and crazy nonsense that Ryoh always seemed to have.
Ryoh laughs, "The best way to throw a welcome back party is to put the most handsome man in the banner."
"Yeah, I doubt that that's what they'd think," Renatus yawns, stretching his limbs. "So? Where are they? Can we start eating?"
Sophina smacks his head with her hand, "Refrain from being disrespectful and patiently wait."
Kaldo, with the kindness in his heart, helps with setting up some of the decorations to put up, as well as making sure that the plates and utensils are in proper order. The food at the long table looked appetizing and smelled delicious, but in his opinion, he'd add some honey here and there.
Ryoh appears beside him, wearing a grin as he pats his shoulder. "Kaldo, my friend, I think you and Y/N would make great friends."
The Flame Cane tilted his head, "Why do you think so?"
"You'll see. And just so you know, Ryoh Grantz is always right!"
Somehow, a light shines on Ryoh as he walks away but no one questions it, and Kaldo has learned to simply ignore the... unique characteristics of Ryoh.
The dining hall continued to bustle with activity, making last-minute changes and preparations until the door opened and Headmaster Wahlberg stepped inside. Everyone turned quiet, the Divine Visionaries falling in line as they bowed to greet him.
Behind him was none other than the star of the show, quite literally, too. Y/N L/N looked the same as their picture in the hallway, although Kaldo noticed that they looked more tired and sunken, lacking the youthful glow. And yet, despite that, Kaldo finds himself in awe of their beauty and the strength of their magic that anyone in the room could feel.
"Everyone, please meet and welcome Y/N L/N."
They stepped beside him with a small smile, bowing, "Nice to meet you, everyone. I see the Divine Visionaries have been growing well."
After a pause, the rest of the Divine Visionaries stepped up to greet them properly. Kaldo stays behind, smiling, admiring one of the oldest Divine Visionary members before stepping up to introduce himself as well.
