"I'm peeling the skin off my face
'Cause I really hate being safe
The normals, they make me afraid
The crazies, they make me feel sane"

{Mad Hatter - Melanie Martinez}

If for no other reason than to put space between her and them, Sidney stands in the entryway, feeling trapped. Billy smirks at her, eyes gleaming with malice. "Where ya going? It's not over yet. We've got one more surprise—Stu, I believe it's your turn," he says. Stu grins and disappears into the kitchen.

"What's wrong?" Billy taunts Sidney. "You look like you've seen a ghost." Sidney tries hard to hold a calm resolve, but it's difficult with Elizabeth standing beside Billy, her eyes locked on him with a twisted devotion. Elizabeth, Sidney's cousin, was always the quiet one, the one who seemed so normal. But now, her eyes reveal a madness that Sidney had never seen before.

Elizabeth steps closer to Sidney, her smile eerie and unsettling. "You never really knew me, did you, Sid?" she whispers. "You always thought I was just the quiet cousin. But Billy... Billy saw me for who I really am." She turns to Billy, her expression softening with a twisted kind of love.

A noise comes from the kitchen—a low dragging sound. Stu reappears from the front hall, wrestling with something or someone. He thrusts the body forward, and it rolls into the living room. Sidney looks down to find her father, bound and gagged, his eyes wide with fear, very much alive.

"Daddy!" she cries, starting for him.

"Close enough," Billy warns, and Sidney freezes. Stu places a cellular phone in Mr. Prescott's shirt pocket. "Guess I won't be needing this anymore," he says with a chuckle.

"Why are you doing this?" Sidney demands.

"It's all part of the game," Stu replies.

Billy grins wickedly. "It's called GUESS HOW I'M GOING TO DIE!"

"Fuck you," Sidney spits.

"We already played that game. You lost, remember?" Billy sneers.

"You have to play, Sid," Stu insists. "Don't want to disappoint your dad. He's been waiting around all night."

"It's an easy game," Billy explains. "We ask you a question. If you get it wrong—you die."

"And if you get it right—you die," Stu adds with a laugh.

"You're crazy—all of you," Sidney says, looking between Billy, Stu, and Elizabeth.

"It's not crazy, Sidney," Elizabeth says softly. "It's love. We do anything for love, right, Billy?" Her eyes are locked on Billy with a twisted devotion. But behind her calm demeanor, Elizabeth hears the voices. They whisper to her, telling her what to do, guiding her actions. She tries to ignore them, but they are persistent, always there, always pushing.
