The man's fingers were ice cold. Seraphina felt the light shudder forming on her back. She couldn't see the man's face even though her eyes were wide awake, confirming her it was another part of her dreams. She didn't know how many times it had been but ever since she had received the news from her uncle and aunt that she would be married, an odd dream... or perhaps a nightmare always follows her— a nightmare where this man would devilishly whisper sweet temptation to her ears.

Her guts told her to stop this man. Whatever he is doing wasn't good to her and she had to stop him.

"Haha," he chuckled so sweetly, his fingers rubbed tender to her inner thighs, pushing his knuckles in a torturously slow line which made her back arched a little.

Her heart had gone erratic, her nerves beating so loudly that she could feel him laughing for it..

"No," she swatted his hand away and for a moment a sudden chill suddenly appeared between her and this faceless man.

He seemed to be staring at her face, gouging her emotions. She couldn't see his eyes but she could feel his burning gaze staring holes at her, as if studying her features and how she had reacted to his touches.

"Soon," he whispered, ignoring that she had swatted his hand earlier and now leaned forward to touched his nose over her neck. He softly brushed his breaths across her neck, making her even more nervous.

A bubble of tightness form on the back of her throat.

Even though she was always tormented in her sleep by this man, she couldn't help but find her toes curled by the end of her dream and her head wondering mindlessly at his advances. There was something about him— something that was both inherently evil yet so sweetly tempting.

"I can't wait," he whispered, pressed his lips across her neck. She could feel him mouthing another couple of words but it was cut with a loud yell—

"Lady Seraphina!"

Seraphina had to open her eyes wide to find Elysia's face right across her. Her fellow maid— now turn to her handmaiden— was looking very nervously at her. She had to look twice to make sure she wasn't in her dream no more. It took her a while to adjust as she slowly process her surrounding that had gotten pitch black.

Seraphina shook her head as she touched her head. Being jolted awake so suddenly always make her dizzy and she could see Elysia was extremely worried, "What's the matter?" She asked Elysia who nervously held her hands together.

"Someone... is right in front of our carriage," said Elysia.

Seraphina slowly frowned as she moved forward to look at the window. No one should be able to stop their carriage. It had held the large symbol of Luminera kingdom, making sure no one would stop the carriage as it belongs to a royalty.

Whoever had stopped the carriage must have known who they are yet still daringly try to stop them. She didn't know who it is and only hope it wasn't some bandits.

"Where are we?" She asked to check.

"We should just enter the border of Umbra," Elysia responded nervously, "They are all dressed in odd armors— I don't think they are from the royal palace."

Upon peeking from the window, her eyes immediately cut through the myriad of people armed with large swords that were bigger than her. In the middle, she saw a man draped in black armor. His entire face was covered to the point that it was hard to even make sure the knight was a man or a woman. As if noticing the gaze, the knight moved the horse to gallop in front of the carriage and he peered inside to narrow his eyes,

"Seraphina Dawnfire?"

A chilling clear voice cut through the chaos in Seraphina's mind. Her name sounded so different from the voice that had called her but something deep in her was quickly shaken by the voice. Before she could make out what was happening, she saw her handmaiden who had fallen on the floor of the carriage, eyes shaking and her mouth wide from shock.
