"Where does the hand twirl thing go?" Marjorie asked, waving the kitchen tool around before her.

Reece looked at her, brow furrowed with a mix of shock and confusion.

"Hand twirl thing?" he huffed.

"Yeah," Marjorie replied, moving her hand in a circular motion with the the tool to demonstrate. "You know, you put it in the bowl and twirl it 'round with your hand?"

They stood there in silence for a moment, Reece's face a clear portrait of the absolute disbelief in his head, Marjorie's eyes darting around, curious and impatient.

Once Reece realized she was truly being serious, he rolled his eyes and softened his look.

"Marjorie..."

"How am I supposed to know where it goes?" She retorted defensively as she gestured wildly around the kitchen. "I don't live in here like you do, and I've only been living in this house for half a bloody week."

Reece's face returned to its original disbelief, slightly taken aback by her sudden defensiveness.

"Marjorie, that's not what I'm concerned about," Reece replied. "I don't expect you to know exactly where everything goes, but you don't know what a whisk is?"

"A whisk? Is that what this thing is?" She waved the metal tool around once again.

"Yes, that's called a whisk. Hang on-" he paused. "How have you gone thirty-six years either not using a whisk or not knowing what it's called?"

"I don't know, darling, can you please just tell me where to put it?" Marjorie scoffed, feeling a bit deflated.

"There," Reece gestured toward a canister of kitchen tools on the counter. "In that silver container there by the stove."

Marjorie huffed, side-eying her boyfriend as she pushed the whisk into the canister with the other tools and returned to the the counter where Reece was hand-drying the freshly washed dishes. She then grabbed a few small spoons and turned towards where she thought she remembered the silverware was stored.

"Any particular spot for demitasse spoons?" she asked.

Reece nearly dropped the plate he was drying upon hearing her words.

"Okay, you don't know what a whisk is, but you know the fancy spoon names..."
