prologue

      My mother was barely twenty when she was appointed as the Head maid for the Glyvia family. Indeed I am a daughter of a maid. My father fell for those rare Brandy eyes of hers and her smooth and long Ochre brown hair.
I have inherited most of her physical appearance apart from the eye colour, mine is brown just like my father's. When the then Queen mother, found out about her sons lust over a maid, She had my mother publicly humiliated before sending her packing to where she came from, with little me in her. My mother didn't know of my existence then, however when she did, she loved me wholeheartedly and swore to give me a safe and secured life, even at the expense of hers.
       When I was just seven, I lost my dearest mother and was off to the capital to be with my father. Little did I know, my world was changing upside down for me. When we got to the capital, Reshelter( These are all made up names😅), I cranked my head high up just to see the windows. I couldn't even see the top of the magnificent castle. I was then led through a beautiful garden, I became self conscious of what I was wearing, a torn dusty old boots and a dress  with holes, I didn't even have a luggage to pack, I came just that way. Even the maids looked well dressed than I did. I was then left with a woman who had an appearance like that of a goddess, sitting elegantly on a fine chair with her back raised, I knew who she was and kept my head low. Standing beside her where two children who looked just like her, a little older than I was, the girl with blonde hair wore a beautiful peach and white gown, that probably cost more than my entire house, she gave me a dirty look, likewise her mother. The other was a boy with long hair cascading over his shoulders,he  just had a bored look on his face.

" She looks just like that whore. Get her out of my sight." The Queen seethed with venom lacing her voice. I knew who she was referring  to, I was not ignorant of what happened between her husband and my mother. I lowered my head in shame as the maid led me to who knows where.
