Riverside has modernized since a decade, with the old buildings demolished and new ones taking their place. One of these new buildings was a car rental company that Ava Garcia worked for, Wilson's Cars for Rent. A rectangular prism-shaped structure with four white Tuscan concrete pillars that held its thick rectangular roof structure firm with the company name engraved on all sides. The entire building was constructed of toughened glass, from its windows and doors with metal frames showcasing its beautiful luxury cars—a red Ferrari Portofino M 2010 in the center in the sports and super class, a black Ford F-150 Raptor 2010 on the left in the off-road class, and a silver Chevrolet C3 Corvette Stingray 1969 classic muscle.
Its flooring is covered in gray vinyl, matching the wooden desks and chairs in the right corner. Her boss Aaron was in his office down the hall. She wore the company-requested outfit, an ash gray pantsuit identical to her colleagues. Madison Miller, Harper Lopez, and Grace Mitchell sat opposite Madison, Harper beside Grace to the left. Ava planned to invite the girls to a lady's night out. They have been working here since the fourth of May, two thousand ten. The company has been open three months now, and we never had a night out for ourselves. Ava got off her chair and stood in the center of their work area. She then clapped her hands, trying to get their attention.
"Hey! Let's all go out for drinks later after work. What do you all think?" she suggested.
"That would be great," Harper answered, signing the documents on her desk.
"Yes! Maybe I can meet someone there," added Madison while waving both hands and tilting her head from left to right.
"Is that all you think about, Maddy?" Added Harper, letting out a soft chuckle.
"It's like you don't even know me at all," Madison replied, giggling.
The girls at work weren't too keen on Madison, not because she was a terrible person, but because she was one of those office girls who would kneel before the boss to get a promotion.
"Alright! you all time and place!" Grace intervened, knowing it would have been a catfight if she didn't.
"So, where are we going, and what time should we be there?" Grace continued.
"Ten tonight at The Crimson's restaurant and bar, it's a new restaurant, and it's opposite a motel, if you knew what I meant," Madison added while winking at us and then chuckling.
"Sure thing, I will be there," Grace agreed as she rolled her eyes at her.
"Great, it is settled then," added Ava before strolling back to her seat.
********
Ava exited the washroom after freshening up. She wrapped a white towel around her head and another around her body, strolling into her bedroom and towards her antique mirror. She began applying her makeup when her cell rang.
She answered, placing the cell against her left ear. She held the cell between her shoulder and ear. "Hello, babe, when are you coming?" She breathed, asking her boyfriend, Greyson Reyes.
"Tonight, baby, what are you doing tonight?" he replied.
"Ladies night out with the girls from work," she added while applying her makeup with her right hand.
"Shit, I thought I could have seen you tonight since I'm in town," he insisted.
The girls won't mind that; slut Maddy would be looking to get laid anyway," she chuckled.
"Alright then, babe, can I meet you at home so we can go together?" he breathed.
"Sure, why not? Call to let me know when you're here," she added.
"Alright, see you soon, babe," was his last word before hanging up.
Ava continued applying the eyeliner beneath her light brown eyes. After her makeup routine was completed. Ava strolled towards her closet, shuffling through her outfits, seeking an adorable one. She chose the black satin dress and skidded it on under the towel before removing it, then skidded on her matching black Rijunor Low Heel Pumps as she gazed into the mirror. She then pulls off the second towel, styling her dark hair in baby bangs. She glanced at herself in the mirror, holding the dress and turning from left to right, admiring how she looked. Ava glanced at her Maxi Leather Band watch; it was already thirty minutes past nine.
"I hoped he would get here soon," she muttered, wandering around jittery.
