THIS IS AN AU WHERE MOX ISNT MARRIED TO MILS SO DONT COME AT ME
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The office of I.M.P. was unusually quiet that evening. The usual chaos had died down, leaving behind a serene stillness. You were alone, sorting through paperwork, when the door creaked open. Moxxie, the sharp-dressed imp with a penchant for precision, stepped inside, his yellow eyes catching the light in a way that made them glow.
"Working late again?" he asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and mild concern.
You looked up and smiled, feeling a flutter in your chest at the sight of him. "Just trying to get through this pile. What about you?"
Moxxie shrugged, his tail flicking behind him. "Millie's out with friends, and I thought I'd get a head start on tomorrow's assignments." He moved closer, peering at the stacks of papers on your desk. "Need any help?"
You hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure, I could use an extra set of hands."
He pulled up a chair and sat beside you, the two of you working in comfortable silence. As you organized the documents, you couldn't help but steal glances at him. There was something about Moxxie that drew you in—the way he carried himself, his dedication to his work, and his softer side that few people got to see.
"Can I ask you something?" you said after a while, breaking the silence.
"Of course," Moxxie replied, not looking up from the paper he was reviewing.
"Why did you join I.M.P.? I mean, you seem like you could do anything you wanted. Why this?"
Moxxie paused, setting the paper down. He turned to face you, his expression thoughtful. "I.M.P. is... more than just a job to me. It's a chance to make a difference, in our own twisted way. And it's a family. Blitz, Millie—they're my family. And now, I guess, so are you."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words. "Family, huh? I like the sound of that."
He smiled, a genuine smile that made his eyes crinkle at the corners. "Me too."
For a moment, you both just sat there, the air between you filled with unspoken feelings. Finally, Moxxie broke the silence. "You know, you're a big part of why this place feels like a family. You're always there for us, always keeping things together."
You felt a warmth spread through you at his words. "Thanks, Moxxie. That means a lot."
He reached out and took your hand, his touch sending a shiver down your spine. "I mean it. You're important to me. To all of us."
You squeezed his hand gently, a silent promise that you would always be there. "You're important to me too, Moxxie."
As the evening wore on, the two of you continued to work, side by side. The office felt a little less empty, the weight of the day's troubles a little lighter. And in that quiet moment, you knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, you would face them together.
