Muichiro felt like he was locked up. It was like he was a raven trapped in a cage with no way out. Was he dying? No, this wasn't what dying felt like. As a hashira, Muichiro knew the feeling. He had been close to taking his last breath a myriad of times, but this death, he thought, was shameful. An Uppermoon named Akaza was looking down upon him with a mix of disdain and admiration in his gaze. Muichiro had taken down multiple demons in his lifetime, yet he felt a special sense of hatred towards Muzan's subordinates.

"What a shame...aren't you supposed to be a hashira?" Akaza snickered.

Muichiro hated the sound of his voice. He hated how a wound was opening up at his side. As the hashira coughed up blood, drenching the grass in crimson red, Akaza crossed his arms.

"Let me offer you some advice before I take you down. I know the reason you came to fight me. To avenge Rengokou, am I right? That annoying hashira with the orange and red hair? No hashira has ever beaten me in a fight. That proves just how weak you are."

Muichiro gripped his katana, practically trembling. No, he was not going to let it end like this. Akaza was right, in a sense. He had come to avenge his fellow hashira filled with determination and strength. Yet, those feelings withered as the pink haired Uppermoon destroyed him little by little.

"Join me, Muichiro Tokito. Join me as a demon and train with me. With the guidance of the Uppermoons, you will be the strongest demon to rule the land; of course, behind Muzan-sama..." Akaza said.

Muichiro couldn't even stand by the time Akaza uttered his last word. "No...there's no way I would accept such an unreasonable offer!" His throat was parched, and he didn't even have the strength to verbally destroy the Uppermoon. He was drowning in his own blood. Did Rengokou feel like this when he was in Muichiro's place? Akaza's grin only widened.

"I offered the same thing to Rengokou...yet he replied with the same response as you. How amazing...the hashiras clearly have one soul, yet different bodies...so, may I have the honor of tearing your throat open?" Akaza's yellow eyes were especially bright under the moonlight.

There was no way to win this fight, Muichiro knew. He was weak. Suddenly, something-no, someone appeared behind Akaza. Muichiro could see the slight surprise in Akaza's expression as he swiftly dodged the katana that was coming for him. It was a girl-a girl who had attempted to put an end to this war.

"I see...an alibi?" Akaza sighed. "Consider yourself lucky, Muichiro. I will spare you for now, but do not forget. I could attack you in your sleep if I wanted." With that Akaza disappeared into thin air. (ɴᴏᴛᴇ: ᴀᴋᴀᴢᴀ ʟᴇᴛ ᴍᴜɪᴄʜɪʀᴏ ɢᴏ ʙᴇᴄᴀᴜꜱᴇ ʜᴇ ᴋɴᴇᴡ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪꜰ ᴍᴜɪᴄʜɪʀᴏ ʜᴀᴅ ʜᴇʟᴘ ꜰʀᴏᴍ ᴀɴᴏᴛʜᴇʀ ʜᴀꜱʜɪʀᴀ, ᴀᴋᴀᴢᴀ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ɢᴇᴛ ᴛᴀᴋᴇɴ ᴅᴏᴡɴ)

"Ah...are you alright?" the girl landed swiftly on her feet and rushed towards Muichiro's crippled form. "I would hope so..." Muichiro tried not to groan as he covered his open wound at his side. "Days! That wound is incredibely deep, just what did that Uppermoon do to you?" she shook her head. Her black hair framed her face nicely...That was Muichiro Tokito's last thought before he collapsed onto the crimson-stained grass.

                                                                                               ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

Sunlight. The bright light of it drenched Muichiro in a comfortable warmth. Where was he? The last thing he remembered was...ah, that's right. Akaza. Did he defeat him? No, someone else was there...

"You're awake! Good morning, Muichiro-kun!" a sweet voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Where..am I? And who are you? I forgot..." Muichiro slowly sat up in bed and slightly winced at the pain in his side. Looking down, bandages enveloped the wound.

"My name is Y/N. You may not recognize me, but I know you, Muichiro Tokito. I have just been newly recruited as a hashira. My skills may not be as good as yours, but I am trying my best!" Y/N enthusically replied. Her voice was like honey, yet it was also smooth like silk. She reminded Muichiro of...what was her name? The hashira obsessed with strawberry mochis...Mitsuri Kanroji. Y/N was dressed in a black version of hashira attire, and her hair went just a little past her shoulders. "Are you feeling any better?" Y/N asked, snapping the wounded hashira out of his thoughts.

"That explains why I cannot recognize you..I'm feeling better...why did you save me? You know very well I am capable of defending myself. Do you think of me as weak?" As he asked this question, Muichiro found the situation a bit odd. If a new hashira was recruited, why wasn't he informed? Ah, that's right...he went to fight the Uppermoon, Akaza. Was that a possibililty? Muichiro shook his head. It was just too much.

Despite this harsh remark, Y/N did not bat an eye, her cheerful gaze unchanging. "Of course not. But, please face the truth, Tokito. You are a hashira, yes, but Uppermoons are incredibely dangerous, even to hashiras. Even Rengokou died in the process..." she said, her voice trailing off as she said her last sentence. Muichiro shook his head. Who said hashiras couldn't beat Uppermoons? Besides, he had already killed 5 by the time he was 12 years old. Muichiro got out of bed, ignoring the searing pain that shot down his spine.

"Did you bandage this for me?" he asked, his eyes and voice devoid of any emotion. They were not filled with anything. It was a black hole.

"Yes, I have experience with treating patients," Y/N responded.

Muichiro nodded in a silent thanks. With that, he grabbed his hashira uniform from the chair that was beside him. Just as he was about to escape to training grounds, Y/N piped up.

"If you're going to train, please be careful. I don't want to bandage that wound again," she joked.

"Alright." A pause. "If you are not busy, I welcome you to train with me. Let's see how strong you really are." Muichiro said blandly.

Y/N broke into a grin. "It would be an honor to train with you, Tokito."

Muichiro turned towards the door. "If you are to train with me, do not go easy. I dislike pity."

Y/N nodded energetically and eagerly followed Muichiro to the training grounds.

Was this the start of a new relationship?
