MARWA XAVIER NIXON.

The car halted as the huge Martinez mansion skid to view making my resting bitch face crack for a second at the excessive extravagant exterior.

I huffed grabbing my purse to check my phone when the guards confirmed our presence to whatever one of the dipshits he talked to on his earpiece ordered him to do.

He nodded affirmatively and Enzo and I scoffed making our way out of the car after parking it in their overly large lot, the slightly chilly weather made me throw on my leather jacket and cling for some warmth.

We got through the opened french doors, my phone buzzed in my phone and I pulled it out as a guard guided us through the spacious space.

"This way," he uttered, monotonous.

I answered Mama's question about where we are typing in as I stuffed my phone into my pocket.

The double doors opened up and the sight of my mother, Althea Martinez and Gabriel Martinez and their shitty twins conversing among themselves got my blood boiling.

My mother caught sight of my glare and grimaced at the sour look I had on with a displeased shake of her head and a warning look in her eyes which Enzo and I called 'The Arabian mom look'.

My heartbeat went on a hike as I sensed those deep blue eyes boring into my frame, scanning me from head to toe and shilling every part of my being with a conscious frown.

And I tried not to shiver from their heated gazes. Fucking look away you imbeciles.

"Hello, Marwa, nice of you to show up," Mama mumbled, her scolding yet sarcastic tone evident and I heard Enzo snort which results in him in an elbow in the gut. Again.

He wheezed and Mama glared at me no doubt getting mad at the looks we were getting, me being me, I smiled innocently with a soft pout.

"I'm here, am I not?" I questioned with equal sarcasm and she gave me a warning look compelling me to resist the urge to roll my eyes.

My eyes drifted to the Martinez family and I nodded in greeting. The seniors nodded back and Althea sent me a professional smile. Gabriel's monotoned form turned to my mother as they chattered sitting down.

What the fuck are we doing here? Was the only thing on my mind.

The twins' glaring eyes never left me, I knew that for sure, maybe out of caution or maybe out of the blatant disrespect I showed by not greeting them.

I smirked in satisfaction and my eyes met his. Dalton. I strode towards him with a grin, he opened his arms in greeting and I jumped into him.

Gods I missed him.

"Fuck, Mar, I missed you so much," he whispered into my hair and I pecked his cheek giving him a smile as he kissed my forehead.

"I missed you too," I mumbled leaning my head over his shoulder noting how shudders crept their way over my body.

I heard a garbled curse and a mixture of a growl getting covered up with a cough and frowned turning towards the two fuckers staring daggers into Dalton's back.

Fuck was up with them now?

I turned away from them, Dalton and Enzo hugged. My smile widened as I mindlessly took off my jacket setting it down on the leather seat.

I clung to Dalton chatting with him as Enzo thought it was the time for the like of the day as he called it.

It was one of those stupid habits that we had going on as kids and it kinda stuck with us and Enzo was the one with the shittiest and corniest jokes.

I braced myself to hear one of his dad jokes, Dalton was holding in his laugh at the eager look on his brother's face already.

"What do you call a joke without a punchline?"

Dalton and I shared a glance.

"What?" We asked simultaneously.

"Silence."

We busted out laughing, tears leaking out of my eyes at the weird and schmaltzy shit he called a joke. Dalton grabbed my waist bringing me to his chest and I snuggled to him.

To anyone who would have seen us would think that we were lovers or so but no, I viewed this man as a brother, a trustee and a best friend.

He was the one that played with Enzo and me, when we were kids. He was the one that thought me to fight, shoot and defend myself. And he was another valuable person I would give my life for if he was to be endangered.

Our laughter died down and Enzo smiled smugly about to open his mouth but thing one interrupted him.

Another growl was heard and we all turned towards Victoriano as he stared me down and I decided to fuck with him, staring right back with equal malice.

What the fuck was his problem anyway?

"You got something to say?" My sneer did nothing to hide my hatred towards the annoying fucker.

"Actually, yes. Take your love fest somewhere else. We're here for business," he seethed with a clenched jaw and Dalton laughed burying his face into my hair.

My glare intensified.

I shivered, hearing Dal as he whispered "Let's wound a fucker up, babe," I smirked at the idea.

Enzo mouthed, "Jealous," pretending to faint and I flipped him the bird.

"Kids, settle down now," Gabriel demanded.

But I didn't back out from the 'you're a piece of shit' stare down with his son because there was no way this man was going to win this sick twisted game we were playing.

Dalton tried to pull me into him but I jerked away from his hands, my intention to break the envious swine-- Victoriano's face was definite.

My eyes didn't stray away from his. I strode over to him catching Vincentius staring at me, his cold and empty eyes drilling into me.

I jeered menacingly but the amusement that shone in his eyes before they were back to being dead and emotionless shocked me at how expressive they were but soon got over it.

Nothing new. Just a robotic fucker being himself.

"Marwa, stop!" I heard my mom say but I intended to rearrange the fucker's smug face for him and there was no way in hell I wouldn't have gotten a few good licks on him.
