🖤Picnic Date🖤 (WLW)

Y/n's POV:

I sigh softly as I think about my girlfriend, Joan of Arc, she was just so perfect she was the perfect blend between sarcastic and kindhearted. I didn't really care that I was in class and that I wasn't paying attention. What can I say? I'm a day dreamer you can't blame me for dreaming about something better than P.E class! "Hey you like daydreaming Y/L/N?" Elenor Roosevelt the P. E teacher says aggressively. I jump slightly as I look at her I stutter a simple, "N-No!" Elenor Roosevelt then says, "Well then you can go lallygagging  all you want in Mr. Scudworth's office!" I sigh heavily walking over to the exit of the gym and exiting P.E with my classmates snickering and snarling. Elenor Roosevelt wasn't exactly my favorite teacher.

Once I was out of Scudworth's office after 5 HOURS of being there I finally head out. Heading to my locker to retrieve my backpack. Tomorrow would be a nightmare! I would have to catch up on a bunch of stupid homework and class work that I wasn't in class for because- "Hey Y/n!" Joan yells from far away. She quickly runs over to me interrupting my nervous train of thought as I say trying to act like I was fine, "Oh hey babe." I blow a strand of my hair (sorry bald people) out of my face. "Did you get sent to Scudworth's office again?" Joan asks raising her eyebrow. I then say, "Yeah I did and it's because of the P.E teacher Miss. Roosevelt, I swear I think she has it out for me or something!" I look off to the side jokingly trying to see if Elenor Roosevelt is secretly watching me. Joan gives a dry chuckle which I could tell was genuine by the way she smiled. "I figured that I didn't see in math class today so I took the liberty of taking notes that are for all the classes you missed." A smile grows on my face as I say, "Oh thank you Joan! You're the best girlfriend anybody can ask for!" I then hug Joan as she wraps her arms around my waist. "I also have a surprise for ya today!" Joan says pulling away from the hug slightly her hands still on my waist. "Oh what is it?" I ask. Joan then replies with, "I'll show you after we get out of this school!" I then take my backpack out of my locker as I make my way out of the school entrance with Joan as we hold pinkies. Joan was never really one for public affection since our relationship was sort of... Weird. To the other students because we were both girls but nonetheless we still found ways to display our affection for each other. I then say, "Babe where are you taking me?" She put her hands over my eyes as she says, "We're almost there!" I smile softly. This was unlike Joan she was usually more calm. She seemed a little eccentric today. After about 2 minutes of looking into Joan's palms we suddenly stop and she says, "You can look Y/N." I look on as she removes her hands that were over my eyes I see a large plaid blanket in the grass and on it was things such as Peanut butter and Nutella fluff sandwiches, turkey cheese mayonnaise sandwiches, a snack plate of chips, and what I was most excited for F/C (Favorite Candy). It was my absolute favorite candy. "Oh Joan thank you how did you even do this?" I ask pointing at the picnic blanket. "Oh y'know I had a little help from Toots and Gandhi," Joan says softly twirling a little piece of her reddish pink hair with her finger. I smile as I state, "Well it looks very nice sweetie." I smell a little bit smelling the food, "And smells good too!"

After sitting down and finishing the food with Joan, Joan speaks to me, "Y/n I need to ask you something important." I look her in the eye as I ask, "What is it Joan?" She suddenly adjusts herself as she gets down on one knee she then says, "Y/n I know we've only been dating for 2 years but I want to give you this." She then pulls out a ring with a fake Ruby on it as she says, "This is a promise ring it just kind of means that in the future that I intend to... Marry you" Joan mumbles the last part my eyes practically bulging out of my eye sockets. "B-but Joan it's 2002 in this day in age we can't get married I-I," I say before Joan puts a finger over my lips as she says, "Y/n I've wanted to be with you since I could practically announce the ABC's and I don't care what others say!" She pauses before continuing, "I want to be with you no matter what!" I look at Joan as I say, "W-well if you say it'll be okay then yes! I'll happily take your promise ring!" I then put it on my right middle finger. I then give Joan a kiss as I say, "I hope this never ends!" We then spend the rest of the night at her house talking and holding each other.
