CHAPTER SEVEN

THE first Quidditch match of the season was underway, and the excitement was palpable as Gryffindor faced off against Slytherin. The stands were a sea of red and green, but one Gryffindor in particular stood out. Selyna, as always, was in the stands, her cheeks adorned with Sirius Black's number. Today, her allegiance was clear as she cheered fervently for her favourite player.

The game was fierce, with both teams battling fiercely for control of the quaffle. James Potter, ever the skilled Chaser, scored a stunning goal that sent the Gryffindor supporters into a frenzy. As was his tradition, James turned towards Selyna, expecting to catch her beaming smile. But today, his gaze was met with an unexpected sight. Selyna's attention was riveted not on him, but on Sirius, who was zipping through the air with his trademark grin. Sirius blew her a playful kiss, and Selyna responded with a bright, enthusiastic wave.

James's moment of triumph was short-lived. Distracted by Selyna's focus on Sirius, he missed the play developing on the field. A Slytherin Beater took advantage of the lapse, sending the bludger careening towards him. His teammate had to call out to him, snapping James back into the game. The match continued with even more intensity.

Despite the hiccup, Gryffindor emerged victorious, and Sirius played a pivotal role in the win, scoring the final, decisive goal. The crowd erupted in cheers as the players began to descend from their brooms. Selyna quickly made her way to the pitch, her heart racing with excitement. As Sirius touched down, he spotted her and immediately stretched his arms wide, a broad grin on his face.

Selyna ran into his embrace, and the two shared a celebratory kiss. It was a brief but electric moment, filled with the thrill of victory. James, meanwhile, was on the sidelines, watching the affectionate display between Sirius and Selyna. His gaze turned slightly as Lily Evans approached him, a rare and genuine smile on her face.

"Congratulations on the win, James," Lily said warmly. James, momentarily surprised, thanked her before heading towards the changing rooms. It seemed in the recent haze of Sirius and Selyna; James had stopped pursuing Lily entirely and hadn't actually thought of her much until this moment. Perhaps getting Lily's attentions would be the cure he needed to stop obsessing over his two best friends.

Back on the pitch, Selyna and Sirius were lost in their own little world. They exchanged a few more kisses, their joy palpable. "You were amazing out there," Selyna said, her eyes sparkling. "That winning goal was incredible."

Sirius chuckled, pulling her closer. "It's all thanks to my personal cheerleader," he said, his voice low and affectionate. "You made all the difference."

Their laughter and kisses were a sweet end to an exhilarating match, while James and Lily's brief exchange marked a quiet, unexpected turn.

THE Gryffindor common room was a whirlwind of celebration following their thrilling victory over Slytherin. The room buzzed with excitement and the clinking of glasses as students revelled in their win. The centrepiece of the party was the roaring fire, casting a warm, flickering glow that made the whole room feel alive.

Sirius Black, who had clearly indulged in his share of celebratory drinks, was already deep into the revelry. He had a carefree grin plastered on his face as he leaned against the hearth, his arm draped around Selyna, who was more than happy to bask in the afterglow of victory with him.

Selyna was content, her cheeks flushed with both the warmth of the fire and the joy of the night. They chatted animatedly with their friends, Sirius's arm tightening around her every so often as he regaled stories of the match. It wasn't long before the atmosphere shifted slightly. Sirius, perhaps feeling particularly buoyant, guided Selyna into a quieter corner of the room. Their kisses, initially tender, quickly became more fervent and passionate, a vivid display of their affection for all to see.
