starting...
The flimsy clock hands in the spacious classroom pointed to 12, leaving out a quick sound that sounded fragile and dead to the ears. This clock felt like an ancient relic, it was way too old and it needed a replacement. A student stared at the clock, counting down the seconds to escape the dreary classroom. It felt endless to her; each minute dragging on.
They had been overworked tirelessly, only for the teacher to assign a major duo presentation needed to pass the course. She turned over to her assigned partner scoffing silently out of frustration from the teacher's behavior.
"Uh, hey... can I get your number so we can finish this torturous presentation?"
Silence filled the room, making the time linger. it looked like the boy was scheming something. The clueless and overwhelmed girl ignored every single sign of it, she was just homesick. He grabbed a sticky note and started jotting down something that appeared to be numbers.
"Yeah, sure! My name is Sam. You can just set that as the contact name."
Sam handed her the piss-colored yellow sticky note with numbers on it. He quickly smiled and went on to whisper about something with his friends, leaving out a chuckle.
It didn't bother her at all, surely nothing will happen.
