~~Splendor's Pov~~

Obsession. It's something he knows all too well. Obsession with sweets. Obsession with all things cute. Obsessed with coloring or childlike things. It makes people underestimate him. Makes people think he's not capable of the things he's capable of. He's a killer. As ruthless as they come, but that's not all he is. His obsessions aren't all that he's about, and he's had a hard time finding someone who gets to know him in his entirety. Only one person knows all of his sides. All of his secrets. All of his feelings. Just all of him.

He looks up from his phone when you finally exit your place of work, finally getting out of his car. He goes to wave his hand before he freezes with a frown, watching a male coworker of yours pull you into a hug. You look way uncomfortable but you're nice about it. He watches you step back and look around the parking lot, taking that as a cue to begin walking towards you. He watches you say your goodbyes before rushing over to him. He grins and wraps his arms around you, spinning you around in a hug before setting you down and giving you a deep kiss. He feels you melt against him and you sink into it, a soft chuckle leaving him when he has to steady you once he pulls away.

"New guy?" He asks, taking your hand and walking you to the car. He opens your door for you and helps you inside before closing the door and walking around to the driver's side where he climbs in.

"Yeah, a new manager in training," You explain, buckling your seatbelt. "And I have the lovely task of showing him the ropes."

"I take it the guy doesn't know how to take a hint?" He asks as he drives away with you.

"Even though I told him I have a fiancé he still thought I would go out for drinks alone with him. I told him he's free to come on the company drink parties but that I wasn't comfortable doing it just the two of us. Plus, it's inappropriate and I would rather be home watching movies with you over social drinking." You explain with a shake of your head. "Usually the rock is a really good deterrent."

Your engagement ring is flashy and you wear it at all times except when you're cooking, going into the water, or any other task that requires your ring to be off. The very first ring he ever gave you was a small bead ring from the candy machines at an arcade he took you to for like your tenth date. He's given you rings as gifts before, but your engagement ring is one of a kind and specially made. Many might say he went over the top, but he wanted the world to know he asked you to be his forever. You told him he could have proposed with a candy ring and you'd have accepted, but you deserve way more than that. What he didn't do though, was propose to you in public. He took you on a trip to your favorite place for a few days vacation and he proposed when you were both alone.

Very subtle, but the ring sends the message that he's willing to drop any amount of money on you. Some would say that's all you're with him for, but he knows the truth. You're with him for who he is, not what he has.

"He probably thinks he's so awesome he can get you to be with him," Splendor says, smiling when you snort in amusement.

"Trust me, that man has an ego the size of Europe. No thank you," You huff out with a shake of your head. "We're all going out for drinks tomorrow though. I'm not so sure I want to go."

"Want me to meet you there?" He asks, turning onto a forest path that opens up to his and your home. "I can bring my brothers so it's not as odd that I happened to show up. You always enjoy your time. If you're worried about the new guy all the more reason to do so."

"I really don't want to trouble your brothers," You admit with a shake of your head. "I can just act sick."

"Didn't your work bestie just get back from vacation? I'm sure she's dying to spill pictures and gossip outside of office hours," He grins. "Plus, I haven't gotten to drink with all of you in a while. I like when I get to go."
