I see my life
I see what has been
I see how I was once wilted and lifeless, although to others I seemed normal
What they saw was a reflection of me
Nothing more than a distorted reality
A façade
Amongst the blackness that enveloped me and froze my soul
Razor sharp fragments of ice tearing at my heart hour by hour
Just the reflection is all anybody saw
Until that one day
One word, on one day, changed my life
That one word broke the spell that had been cast on me for so long
One simple word that led to me finding myself again
To my freedom, my warmth
One word that led the way to me being able to see myself for who I truly am
And not who I thought I was
One word to break the ice, to melt it away
I could not hide behind that façade
You knew as soon as you saw me
Thank you for that word
Thank you for finding me
Thank you for your love
