CHAPTER: 01

I WOKE UP to find myself in an unknown land the remnants of a nightmare still clinging to me.

The memories of my village haunted me. It had been under attack by bandits, ruthless and unforgiving.

They killed my famil leaving me alone and terrified I was only six years old

I ran. I ran through the forest, my small feet barely able to keep up

The sounds of chaos and destruction faded behind me replaced by the quiet whispers of the trees

I didn't know where I was going I just knew I had to get away

I ran until my legs could carry me no further collapsing near a riverbank

There I found a boat, tethered to a tree

I climbed into it, not knowing where it would take me, but hoping it was far away from the horrors I had witnessed.

The boat drifted downstream, carrying me away from everything I had ever known

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months I survived on what little I could find learning to fend for myself in the wilderness

Eventually the boat brought me to a new land one that was foreign or idk

The language spoken by the people here was strange to my ears and the unfamiliar faces

"Where am I?" I murmured clutching my head as a sharp pain shot through it

My surroundings were alien the people were bustling around me speaking in tongues I couldn't explain I was just devastated and miserable but I knew I had to survive

Despite my young age I had been forced to mature quickly my childhood gone or more like it was stolen

For the first year I struggled I lived on the streets scavenging for food and shelter It was a harsh existence but it hardened me made me silent

Slowly, I began to pick up bits and pieces of the language learning enough to get by

I found work in a small street market, doing odd jobs for anyone who would hire me. It wasn't much, but it kept me alive

One day while practicing my magic in a  corner I caught the attention of a man named Julius Novachrono

He was unlike anyone I had ever met his presence commanding and his eyes sharp with curiosity

"You have great magic, little girl," he said, observing me as I used glass and ice magic with my hands

"Thanks," "You have unique magic. I've never seen anyone use it the way you do. Do you want to join my guild?" he asked

Instantly I replied, "No, thanks."

He seemed taken aback by my refusal his brow furrowing in confusion "Why not?"

"I don't have time for it," I said, my voice firm I had responsibilities survival being the foremost among them

He chuckled softly a kind sound that seemed out of plac "What does a little girl like you have to work on? Just ask your parents; they will say ye-"

"I don't have parents," I replied flatly, the words heavy with the weight of my past.

His expression softened a hint of sadness in his eyes He sighed taking a moment before speaking again "I'm sorry to hear that Can you tell me what happened?"

I shook my head,But Julius was persistent For two to three days, he continued to seek me out, asking about my story offering help

Finally I gave in telling him everything  the attack on my village, the loss of my family, my escape, and my struggle to survive in this new land

He listened intently When I finished, he asked me a question that took me by surprise

"Do you want to be my daughter?" he asked, his voice filled with warmth “Yk I may not look like it, but I can be a great father."

I stared at him, stunned by his offer
Julius was patien his eyes never leaving mine He didn't push me for an immediate answer allowing me the time I needed to process his words

Over the next few days he continued to visit me offering small gestures of kindness – a meal a warm blanket a comforting presence.r

Finally I made my decision I looked up at Julius, my eyes filled with a mixture of fear and hope. "Okay," I said softly. "I'll be your daughter." I mean the worst that could happen is he sell me to anyman for money

His face broke into a wide smile "Welcome to the family, Y/N," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "I promise I'll take good care of you

So that's how I was adopted by the famous Julius Novachrono the captain of the Aqua Deer

My life started to get better It had been a year since I started living with Julius but today was my 9th birthday, and I was excited

Although if I were being honest, Julius was even more excited than I was.

"OMG, Y/N, IT'S YOUR FIRST BIRTHDAY WITH ME! I KNOW YOU MUST BE EXCITED! WE'LL HAVE THE BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER, MY LOVE!"

Julius exclaimed his excitement almost contagious

"Shut it, old man. Why are you so energetic?" I said with a chuckle.

"GO AND GET READY! YOUR PARTY WILL START SOON!" he said, pushing me into my room

I sighed He had made a huge deal out of it, inviting all his Aqua Deer members, even the royals, and some other high nobles like the Vermillion family and Silva family

I looked at the peach-pink dress laid out for me and got ready

Soon I went downstairs and the guests were already there

Julius introduced me to everyone, and I greeted them politely though I could see the annoyance in their eyes

"See those kids? They are your age. Go and try to be friends with them," Julius said with a smile

I walked towards the group of kids, extending my hand

"Hi, I'm Y/N. Nice to meet you both," I said.

The orangish red-haired boy took my hand before introducing himself "Nice to meet you I'm Fuegoleon Vermillion."

I smiled and looked at the silver-haired boy, extending my hand towards him "Hi-"

But I got cut off as he yanked his hand away. I looked at him in annoyance.

"What's the matter with you? Can't you act politely at least?" I said, grabbing his arm.

He pushed me away and I landed on my own birthday cake

Everyone gasped and I felt like crying but held it back

Soon after Julius helped me get up. From that day on, I made a lifelong enemy...NOZEL SILVA....
