-leave one of their major goals unfinished
-give them a strong relationship with your other characters
-make them struggle whatever is causing their death
-show how the death effects the other characters
-make the killer someone the readers hate with passion
-or someone that most readers didn't expect and a specific character (u guys decide what happens to that character, your choice)
