August pov
I was outside lounging on a pool chair, zoning out thinking of way to keep this place, then my phone started to ring it was Jere, I stared at it for a moment, thinking about what Conrad told me.
So I let it ring, then I sat up and sighed then Mason walked out "Hey August" He said humming my name.
"Hi Mason" I smiled at him.
"Your ex calling you?" He said looking at the phone as it was on the last ring.
I rolled my eyes me and Jere had a short relationship of two months during the school year which stopped me and Mason hooking up for those months "He's probably just worried about me and Conrad, I don't think Conrad told him he just left collage" I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck.
"Yeah I heard you guys fight last night" Mason sighed.
"Yeah well he shouldn't just leave collage like that" I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah" Mason nodded then looked out at the beach and saw Conrad surfing "Ya know I never thought I would see you two separated" He said and looked at me.
I shrugged "Shit happens"
"Hm I guess so" Mason got up "Does that mean your up for grabs" Mason winked at me.
I will admit I blushed a little "Whatever" I rolled my eyes.
I saw his sly smile "I'll take that as a yes" He paused for a moment "I am gonna stop at the store want anything?"
I shook my head "No thank you"
"Alright see ya August" He smiled and waved and I waved back.
I then thought about that Thanksgiving when we technically got together.
Flashback to Thanksgiving
I smiled as we all ate at the table, I was sitting across from Conrad while Belly was sitting next to them, I think they are actually together now. Which made me super happy, I mean Belly looks so happy and it looks good on her.
"So Conrad you know what I found!" Susannah spoke, she picked up the box next to her it had a couple VHS tapes in it "Your old videos you made a year ago, for your video class" Susannah smiled.
"Oh yeah" He nodded and smiled but something seemed off.
"We should watch them!" Susannah said looking at all of us since we were practically done eating, we then went into the living room and Susannah picked out one called 'August' assuming it was the month.
"Ooo August this one I haven't seen!" Susannah said and popped it in immediately.
Then there I was, I spoke in the film 'Do you really have to record this?' I giggled, I heard Conrad speak 'Mhmm you look really pretty'.
Conrad took it out immediately, with a bit of blush on his face "Uhm sorry I shouldn't have put that one in there"
Belly looked like she was gonna cry "When was this?" She asked.
"The week before I went to Italy" I looked down, I remembered he recorded everything but I didn't think he would put it on tape.
"I should've asked first, I mean I found it under your bed and this one was on top and it's worn, I am sorry hun" Susannah seemed a little embarrassed too.
Belly got up "It's always gonna be her isn't it Conrad?"
"Belly.." Conrad sighed.
"No no no" Belly shook her head.
"Belly" I paused for a minute thinking of how to make this better then looked at Jere "Me and Jere are dating so you don't have to worry about me and Conrad, I mean you wouldn't either way since Conrad obviously likes you so much" I word vomited, Jere looked confused then I glared at him.
"Uh yeah" He said getting up and coming next to me and then putting his arm around me, as I was now standing. He then spoke "We are together" I tried my best not to roll my eyes.
Belly looked like she felt a bit better looking at us, Conrad had no reaction but I could tell just by his eyes he was hurt but then he looked at Belly and put on his best smile, Susannah then took the tapes back to where they where and everything went back to normal.
A couple days later, me and Jere were actually dating. On a different topic on this day, I helped Susannah clean Conrad's room and noticed the tape with my name was gone, I still wonder what happened to it.
Present time
Conrad snapped me out of my daze "Hey" he said as he walked up to the sliding door, soaked.
I threw a towel at him "Dry off" I rolled my eyes and looked anywhere but at him.
He smiled "Aren't you just a bundle of joy" He spoke with a sarcastic tone
"Not in the mood" I sighed out and kept looking away from him.
"I can tell you won't even look at me" He sighed "Are you and Mason together?" He asked seeming serious.
"That isn't your business" I rolled my eyes and looked at him finally.
"So you aren't, got it" He smiled then threw the wet towel in my lap "Thanks Auggie" He smiled and walked in.
I sighed, he gives so many mixed signals it's so confusing.
Belly's pov a day later
Jere called me yesterday to try and help him find Conrad. I know the only reason he asked me was because August isn't answering him but I didn't mind.
We walked into Conrad's dorm, his roommate was there "You guys looking for Conrad?" His roommate asked
"Yeah I'm his brother" Jere spoke, while I looked around his dorm and they spoke, I zoned it out and looked in his open drawer, there was a little pouch, I opened it, it was the infinity necklace he gave me the day we got together but then I noticed a note in the pouch 'We are infinity Auggie'.
I felt my eyes well up, it wasn't meant for me, it was hers, it's always her, then I saw the VHS tape from Thanksgiving...I tried to keep it together but I felt so overwhelmed, I felt a teardrop fall down my cheek then Jere tapped me on the shoulder and said we where going to the beach house and I just nodded processing everything, I took the pouch and necklace with me in my pocket.
