Fear

A week had passed since the "meaningless kiss" incident, Bakugou was trying his best to just forget about it, but the thought of that man's lips against his was just so frightening. It didn't help that he heard his parents talking about a fancy dinner with the Midoriya's, and that because the restaurant didn't allow any kids in they would leave the kids alone with Nice Guy.

Not only was he exposed to Nice Guy again, but Izuku was also there, unaware of Nice Guy's intentions. For an unknown reason, Bakugou felt the urge to protect Izuku from the man. It was weird, since thoughts so heroic towards the freckled boy had never crossed his mind. But because the feeling was so genuine and intense, he couldn't just ignore it.

He didn't feel safe anymore around the tall man, he became menacing, he became scary. He was scary to be around, like an unpredictable animal. He had no way to know what was his next move, that's what he feared the most. He didn't know if it would all go back to what it was, or if the seemingly meaningless kisses were going to stay. Or even worse, he didn't even know if things were going to escalate. He hated it, he hated not knowing what was coming after him, but he didn't really have much of an option or power over the situation.

He was forced to recieve the scary man into his house, he heard his loud footsteps and voice echo through the house, reaching the room where he and Izuku were previously in. He grew worried as those loud footsteps grew closer and closer to the big door that separated the children from the adult, the expression on the blonde's face was quickly noticed by Midoriya.

"What's going on Kacchan, why do you seem scared of Nice Guy?" Izuku innocently asked his friend as he inclined his head a bit.

"Shhh! I'm not scared! And he's not Nice Guy anymore, his new name is Mean Guy. But he doesn't know that, so we need to keep calling him Nice Guy, even though it's not his name anymore" Bakugou responded quite irritated, replacing the word "scary" with "mean", since he refused to let Izuku know he was scared.

"Oh... but if that is not his name, why do we keep calling him that? Don't we need to tell him he has a new name?" Izuku asked once again, fueling the blonde's anger even more.

"NO! He can't know! I'm not even supposed to tell you all this! Now shut up, he's coming!" Bakugou whisper-yelled as he knew that at any moment Mean Guy could burst through the door.

Just as he expected, Mean Guy bursted through the door with a smile. A smile that he had wore every other day, but seemed much more hostile to the red eyed kid. He greeted the two little kids with his warm smile and a wave, making Midoriya wonder about what Bakugou told him. He was acting just fine, why did he say he suddenly turned mean?

After a bit of small talk, they all agreed to play hide and seek. As Izuku viewed it as a simple and fun game, Bakugou viewed it as an opportunity to hide from Mean Guy. The man started to slowly count as he covered his eyes, signaling the children that they could run and hide. Bakugou tried to make his footsteps as silent as possible, although it didn't make any difference since Izuku's steps were loud enough for Mean Guy to hear.

They decided to hide in a spacious closet, they heard Mean Guy's footsteps in the upper floor, they hid in the floor below the room they previously were in. They didn't talk at all when inside the closet, if they wanted to win they needed to be silent. After some time they stopped hearing his footsteps, it was as if he left the house entirely, as if he wasn't there anymore.

Izuku decided to go out and check if he was still there, at first Bakugou decided against it but at the end Izuku ended up going anyway. After some time of hearing Izuku's faint footsteps, they stopped entirely, worrying Bakugou. Where were they? Where had they gone to? Did they disappear? What was Mean Guy doing with Midoriya?
