It was a sunny Saturday morning when Jaemin and Jeno decided to take Renjun on a special date. They had spent the previous night planning everything meticulously, wanting to make it memorable for their dear friend. Renjun, unaware of their intentions, was simply happy to spend another day with the two people who had become his closest companions. They picked Renjun up from his house, excitement bubbling under their casual demeanor. "So, where are we going?" Renjun asked as he got into the car, his curiosity piqued by their secretive smiles.
"You'll see," Jeno replied with a wink, starting the car. Jaemin, sitting in the back with Renjun, handed him a blindfold.
"Put this on. No peeking," Jaemin instructed, his tone playful.
Renjun laughed, but complied, tying the blindfold around his eyes. The drive was filled with the sound of music and their light-hearted banter. Despite his curiosity, Renjun trusted Jaemin and Jeno completely.
After what felt like an eternity, the car finally came to a stop. "Okay, we're here," Jeno announced, turning off the engine. "Keep the blindfold on until we say so."
Renjun nodded, feeling Jaemin take his hand and guide him out of the car. They walked for a few minutes, the scent of flowers and fresh grass filling the air. Finally, Jaemin and Jeno positioned him in place, their excitement palpable.
"Ready?" Jeno asked.
"Ready," Renjun confirmed, his heart pounding with anticipation.
"Okay, take off the blindfold," Jaemin said.
Renjun slowly untied the blindfold and opened his eyes. He found himself standing in a beautifully decorated picnic area by a serene lake. A large blanket was spread out on the grass, adorned with a variety of snacks, sandwiches, and a basket filled with Renjun's favorite treats. Lanterns hung from nearby trees, their soft glow adding a magical touch to the setting.
"Wow," Renjun breathed, taking in the sight. "This is amazing. You guys did all this for me?"
Jaemin and Jeno exchanged proud smiles. "Of course," Jaemin said. "We wanted to do something special for you."
Renjun felt a surge of gratitude and affection for his friends. "Thank you. This means a lot to me."
They spent the day lounging by the lake, eating, talking, and enjoying each other's company. The hours flew by, filled with laughter and moments of quiet reflection. As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, they decided to take a stroll along the lake's edge.
Jaemin and Jeno flanked Renjun, their hands occasionally brushing against his. The air was warm and still, the perfect end to a perfect day. As they walked, Jaemin suddenly stopped, a thoughtful look on his face.
"Renjun," he began, his voice soft, "there's something we've been wanting to do for a while now."
Renjun turned to face him, curiosity and a hint of nervousness in his eyes. "What is it?"
Before he could react, Jaemin leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. Renjun's eyes widened in surprise, his heart skipping a beat. He felt Jeno's hand on his shoulder, grounding him, and then Jeno's lips were on his too, just as tender and affectionate.
When they pulled back, Renjun stood frozen, his mind a whirlwind of emotions. He had known about their feelings for him, and he had started to acknowledge his own feelings as well, but this kiss-this moment-was overwhelming.
"I... I don't know what to say," Renjun stammered, his voice shaky.
Jaemin reached out to touch his arm, concern in his eyes. "We're sorry if we surprised you. We just wanted you to know how much you mean to us."
Jeno nodded, his expression equally earnest. "We didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, Renjun. We just-"
But before he could finish, Renjun took a step back, shaking his head. "I need some time to think," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. The intensity of the moment, the realization of their feelings, and his own confusion were too much to handle all at once.
Without another word, Renjun turned and ran. He heard Jaemin and Jeno calling after him, but he couldn't stop. He needed space, needed to sort through the torrent of emotions swirling inside him. He ran until he found himself in a quiet part of the park, far from the picnic area, and collapsed onto a bench, trying to catch his breath.
Tears welled up in his eyes as he struggled to make sense of everything. He cared deeply for Jaemin and Jeno, but the sudden intensity of their affections had thrown him off balance. He wasn't ready to confront these feelings, not yet.
As he sat there, trying to calm his racing heart, he heard footsteps approaching. He looked up to see Jeno and Jaemin walking towards him, their faces etched with concern and regret.
"Renjun," Jaemin said softly, "we're really sorry. We didn't mean to overwhelm you."
Jeno nodded, sitting down beside him. "We'll give you all the time you need. We just want you to be happy."
Renjun wiped his eyes, taking a deep breath. "I just... I didn't expect it. I care about you both so much, but I'm not sure how to handle this."
Jaemin reached out, his touch gentle. "We understand. We'll take things at your pace, okay?"
Renjun nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and gratitude. "Okay. Thank you for understanding."
They sat in silence for a while, the weight of the moment slowly lifting. Renjun knew that this was just the beginning of a complicated journey, but with Jaemin and Jeno by his side, he felt a glimmer of hope that they could navigate it together.
