Chapter Two: a witch appears

We arrived at a town which was surrounded by large stone walls, and according to Mr. Glodis, this is the Clam town.

At the huge gate of the town, we finally said farewell to Mr. Glodis.

"Bye bye savior Glodis, and I'm taking this crate of peaches hehe"

The elf girl said while holding a wooden crate full of peaches.

I also turned towards him with the Princess on my back.

"Thank you Glodis, we owe you one"

Glodis, while still completely shrouded in his cloak, said while leaving.

"Take care and don't worry about it . . . I will make sure you pay me back later"

We saw as the shadow of his cloak left us.

We both turned around and went into the town.

There were a lot of stalls and shops around the gate, and it was buzzing with activity. The houses and buildings were all made of wood. However something felt strange about the town. The people all had gloomy expressions and there were an unusually large number of adventurers and soldiers walking around. While I was looking around, Iikorin suddenly tugged at my armor.

"Chyunchyun Chyunchyun, look at that restaurant over there. it says squid-eats, I want to eat squid pleeeezz!!!!!

Hmm, I don't see a reason not to, and we do need a place to stay for the night so I will ask them for some information about it too.

"Sure, but I still haven't withdrawn my money from the bank yet so I will only buy so much"

"Yezz finally some reeaal fooood!"

The waiter served us an alive squid, along with spaghetti since I don't want to eat the squid, but the spaghetti looked horrendous. I felt nauseous just looking at it, the noodles are gone gray and there are different colored toppings on it that look like Skittles.

I looked at the elf, who was drooling excessively while glaring at the squid and started eating like a wild animal with a fork and knife while the squid started screaming, weird.

I was also going to eat but I made sure to ask the waiter about some places to stay, and also because the fact that my appetite had been diminished after looking at "that", and to my delight he even gave me a 70% off coupon!

After the waiter left, I took off my helmet and hesitated a little before finally taking a bite.

"I-its good!"

I exclaimed in disbelief.

The spaghetti had tiny clover shaped fruits, which I do not recognize, they were mushy and had a sour yet sweet taste and interestingly enough, it goes along very well with the salty and spicy spaghetti noodles.

"I-Iikorin, you need to try this, it's really good!"

I turned over to her but she was staring directly at me with her mouth wide open.

"What is it? I know it looks like garbage but believe me it's good"

"N-no that's not it, it's just . . . Your hair . . . is really cool"

My long silky brown hair was flowing freely in the wind, and when I noticed, almost everyone in the restaurant was staring at me. I quickly put my helmet back on and turned away.

I passed her the remaining spaghetti.

"H-here, I have lost my appetite, you can have this"

She took it while still staring directly onto my face with an unnaturally serious expression, then started eating without wavering at all.
