Finn didn't really have a plan. She knew she had to at least be able to talk to Allison if she wanted to win the bet but she had way too much anxiety for something like that. But she had to give herself a push if she wanted to win this thing.
She figured the best first step would be to talk to one of her dad's, the one who made the moves in the first place. She sits at the table eating breakfast as her dad, Frazer, made coffee, dressed in his navy blue firefighter t-shirt, black pants and black boots.
"Pops?" Finn brings up and he glances back at her curiously. "How did you convince Dad to go out with you?" She wonders.
He smirks, filling up his mug and adding cream and sugar. "Ah, you mean how I charmed your dad into falling in love with me?" He wonders.
He turns back to look at her, leaning against the counter, sipping his coffee as he thinks it over. "Well, we've told you how we met of course. I had taken a nasty fall while rescuing a dog in a burning down building and I was his patient" He starts off and Finn nods.
"You said he was grumpy" She laughs at the thought and so does he.
"He was still a great nurse, don't get me wrong, but he's professional. He doesn't like to be flirted with on the job. That didn't deter me though. I continued to flirt with him and eventually asked him if he wanted to go on a date with me. He declined though and said I was delusional from all of the pain meds they had me on" Frazer laughs again, shaking his head.
"What did you do then?"
"Well, I still continued to flirt with him. I was persistent. And as they were discharging me, I asked him on a date again and he was surprised but he still rejected me. But us Hayes, we don't give up so easily, so I came back the next week to visit him and gifted him a bouquet of his favorite flowers" Frazer explains.
"How did you know his favorite flowers?" Finn questions.
"I asked his coworkers of course. They weren't ones to step in the way of true love. Anyways, I asked him out again...and he said no again. So every week I visited and gave him flowers and chocolates and finally he agreed to go out with me. His exact words were 'If I say yes, will you leave me alone?'. I was ecstatic though. I took him out to a fancy restaurant and I must've done something right because when I visited him a week later for a second date, he agreed" Frazer shrugs.
"So, he's simple then?" Finn asks and Frazer nods.
"Oh, yes. He loves simple things. Take him out to fancy meal, he loves to dress up, gift him flowers and chocolates. He's a big romantic actually, though a classic romantic" He informs her and she hums.
"But isn't that kind of creepy? Chasing after someone, asking their friends their favorite things?" Finn brings up. Frazer shrugs in response.
"He liked me chasing after him. He wouldn't admit it back then but I saw him blushing when I would come in with those flowers. Plus, we didn't have cell phones back then. It was a lot harder to date, especially for people like me and your dad" Frazer explains and Finn nods, eating her breakfast as she thinks over his words.
She knew one thing, she wasn't gonna that hard when trying to talk to Allison. Nothing wrong with being friends first. She didn't want to creep Allison out. This was all hypothetical though considering she hasn't even talked to her yet.
Frazer grabs a piece of toast off his plate and takes a bite into it, smiling in thought, probably thinking about his husband when Finn asks her next question.
"So, let's say, if I ever like...took someone out... How would I know what they liked? Should I take them out to a restaurant?" Finn wonders. Her pops cocks an eyebrow in her direction.
