the start of the mission

atsushi's pov:

After we were able to defeat Fyodor Dostoyevsky, the agency and the port mafia were on good terms. Our presidents even make us work together. However this means I have to work with Akutagawa for a lot of missions.

"Dazai! Do I have to work with Akutagawa again?"

"Oh c'mon! Please one more time working together?? I'll treat you to dinner tonight!" (NOT A SHIP)

He told me, looking at me with puppy eyes.

"Ugh whatever bruh. I'll do it but I want a good dinner after!!"

I yelled at him, taking the report from his hand and leaving. I looked at the report trying to find the location of the mission. It was an abandoned two floor house in a forest. When I got there I was greeted by Akutagawa, standing at the entrances looking at me while coughing a few times.

"You're late, Jinko."

He said coughing a little more.

I really hope his lung disease isn't that bad. His time is still short..

akutagawa's pov:

When I arrived at the location I noticed a lot of the windows were broken. I turned around and saw Jinko.

Two minutes late..

I thought to myself as I coughed a few times.

I forgot that I only have 4 months left. This is going to suck.

"You're late, Jinko. Anyways, let's get started."

I said, opening the door with rashoumon. There was a second floor, and on the first floor there were at least 3 rooms. A kitchen, a dining room, and a room that I was unsure of what was in it.

"I'll take the first floor."

Jinko said heading towards the kitchen. I went upstairs and saw 4 rooms. I opened the door for one of the rooms and saw a dead person hanging from the ceiling.

"A suicide? How pathetic."

I told myself as I walked past the hanging person and explored more into the room. As I was looking around I saw fresh blood on the floor.

"Interesting."

I told myself before I felt a cold wind behind me. I turned around but I didn't see anyone. I decided to explore another room instead. As I left the room I saw a figure wearing a black coat so I couldn't see his face.

I should let Jinko deal with him.

I thought as I walked to the next room not thinking much about it. After I heard a scream from downstairs.
