Tw: Underage drinking and talk about maimed eyes (Not that detailed but still talked about) and trying to get a child married off to another child.Aegon went out of his way to go check on his younger brother Rhys any chance the small boy could, He didn't know how to feel towards the other. But if it saved him from getting punished by his mother then he would do it and who knew maybe he would actually bond with the small creature.
He grabbed the tray that his father had sent to him, It was wine. His father always sent him wine in the morning, Aegon guessed it was his way of showing affection and that he did pay attention to his children and what they liked.
Aegon didn't like wine, it was bitter. But he did drink it a lot, It made his head feel fuzzy and it made him feel like he was floating. He liked floating, He always wanted to fly a dragon. But mother had forbidden them from flying till they were older, Rhys had found a loophole and swam with his stupid four-legged beast.
He pushed open the door to his chamber with his leg, He had a brilliant idea that he should show Rhys wine, Maybe he would like the bitter taste and they both could find enjoyment in the floating feeling. Rhys needed enjoyment, He had been in his chambers for almost a full moon now, and Mother had forbade him from going anywhere without her. He was slowly going stir-crazy. Rhys told Aegon one night that he missed his dragon more than he missed his vision.
Aegon wished he had that type of bond with anything, But he didn't have the patience to deal with something that long to bond with it. He got overwhelmed quickly, He couldn't deal with something for that long. Unless he drank wine before whatever then he could deal with anything, He was too busy floating to care.
He pushed open the chamber door that led to Rhys, It was dark in here as the servants felt no need to light a candle since they thought Rhys no longer needed light. Aegon knew otherwise, Rhys's sight hadn't fully left him, He said most of it was gone but he still could see dark shadows and outlines of things.
"Rhys?" Aegon closed the door with his foot and pushed the tray onto the nearest table, "I brought you a gift."
"I am over here, brother," His voice was quiet and Aegon had to squint his eyes to try and find him, He found him under the curtains. Aegon raised a brow, Why didn't the boy just pull the curtains back?
Rhys was just a weird lump under the curtains as he was perched against the gaping hole in the wall, Aegon's small fingers wrapped around the cloth and pulled it back. The small boy barely even reached the opening, He had his little hands tightened around the edge and he was on his tiptoes to give himself more height.
"Can you see out there?" Aegon asked, He did wonder if Rhys could see anything outside. Could he only see the shadows of things that stood still? Could he only see the outlines of the things near him? He wondered how the boy's eyes worked now, It fascinated him.
Rhys shook his head, "It's just bright and blurry," He stopped standing on his tiptoes, "I just like the feeling of the sun."
Aegon hummed, He pushed the curtain aside for the boy to walk past them. Rhys had this stick that this little stable boy had given him, Aegon stared at it, It was a shaved long stick and both of the ends were nicely smooth. Rhys would drag it side to side in front of him as he walked, The stable boy said his grandfather had used one similar to make sure he didn't run into anything in the middle of the night. So far, Rhys hadn't had any complaints or at least none that Aegon knew of.
"What did you bring?" Rhys questioned, His hand - that wasn't holding the stick - felt the air beside him to find his bed.
Aegon blinked, He almost forgot about the wine, "oh," He rushed past the boy who had pulled himself onto his bed, He grabbed the empty goblet and turned towards his brother, "Wine, I've brought you wine to try with me."
