"Ewww... What the heck?" Damien took a tissue and wiped his face with it. "Why did you spit on me?"
Richard's mouth twitched. "I didn't spit. It's just water. Water, okay?"
Damien pressed his lips together. "Water mixed with saliva."
"My saliva is precious. So you must be proud." Richard patted his chest with a smug smile on his face.
Damien could only roll his eyes.
A few moments later...
"Seriously, Damien boy! Are you really dating an older sister?" Richard's face showed a look of disbelief as he stated when he recalled about what they were talking.
His question made Damien squint his eyes unhappily. "No way! Are you crazy? I just wanted her help because I needed a companion for yesterday's banquet. I can't ask for other girls' help because they might pester me in the future, unlike sister Annabella. She's an adult and mature enough."
"Are you sure?" Richard arched one of his eyebrows.
Damien was rendered speechless. In reality, he wasn't sure about his own statement.
"Whatever!" He could only reply that way, pretending to be casual.
After a while, he broke the silence between them by asking, "What do you think about this accident? The collapse of the crystal chandelier...?"
His question made Richard think for a while. He took his tablet out of his suitcase and showed Damien evidence he had collected from the hotel.
"According to them, I assume that the accident is a pure coincidence. No one planned it. At least, we can think like that for the time being. I'll investigate it further."
"You'd better be quick!"
When Richard heard that, his face turned dark as black lines appeared in it. "I'm busy, Mr Teenager. I'll try my best. But I can't guarantee cause I'm a human and I have tons of other work to do."
"Oh, fine then. I'll help you with that after recovering," Damien promised. "I won't have cases for the time being. Finally, they are going to leave me alone for a moment."
Richard sneered. "Look who's talking. You are the one who pestered them every day to gain a complicated mission. Now that you got one, are you truly gonna back off?"
His words made Damien arch his eyebrows. "You're thinking too much, bro. I mean uncle."
"Uncle?" Richard spat out in disbelief. "What the hell!"
The teenager chuckled in satisfaction. "You're thirty six this year. What's wrong with calling you uncle?"
Richard rolled his eyes. "I'm twenty six, you motherfucker! NOT THIRTY SIX!"
Damien shrugged his shoulders in a mischievous demeanour. "It's the same."
Richard: "..."
This time Damien's phone started ringing, diverting their attention to it. With a sigh, Damien took it from the bedside table. When he saw the caller's ID, he was a bit shocked.
"You'd better go now," He demanded. "This call is private."
Richard gave him the side eye but he still went outside the ward, waving his hand at Damien. "Okay, fine. I am going. Bye! See you at the department soon."
