He Just Comes Running Over to Me

AN: The clip above is a pretty famous scene that you have probably watched on TV as it was happening. I saw this edit someone on Insta made that was SUPER cute and romantic but I couldn't find it on YouTube. It wad basically just the running scene with TS The Alchemy bridge playing in the background (go listen to the song. Sorry, I'm a swiftie.)

I thought it was super romantic and wanted the write through Mondo's perspective. Enjoy!

“You have one more try, Mondo.”

I look up from my fidgety hands and into the eyes of my coach. I have one more try to beat my own world record for pole vaulting, and if I do, I win gold.

I mean, I already have the gold secured anyhow, but who doesn't want to beat their own record? I have the title for the best pole vaulter in history, and I sure do want to keep it.

“I can do it,” I say while looking into the eyes of my coach.

He smiles back at me, then runs off to tell the announcers. Not two minutes later, I am told to make my way toward the start. I’m shaking, but I know I can do it.

My family cheers for me in the audience, and I turn in their direction just before I am to vault across a 6.25 meter bar. I lock eyes with my girlfriend, and she smiles at me. Suddenly, my insides lighten up, and I believe I can do it.

Over the intercom, a countdown starts. My hands nervously clutch a pole as tall as a lamppost as I prepare myself for the jump.

“And he’s off!”

I sprint as fast as I can, the tall bar coming closer and closer. With all the strength in my body, I slam the pole at the ground and feel myself being lifted up into the air. The bar races towards me and I pray to basically anybody listening that I make it over.

Everything seems to happen in slow motion. I see the bar behind as I free fall to the ground. I DID IT! My feet barely even touch the ground before I launch myself toward my girlfriend. She looks at me with a smile and open arms as I crash into her, whispering “I did it! I did it!” into her ear. Cameras surround us, but I don’t care. I kiss her long and hard, happy to be going home with the gold and a new world record.

AN: I'm really sorry these first few were so short. I'm making the next one longer don't worry!
