𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐂

On first day of October, 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth. This was unusual, only in the fact that none of these women were pregnant when the day first began...

"FIVE," The Handler calls on a man, "Five Hargreeves, I have a special mission for you."

A man with longer slicked-back hair walked toward his boss. "What is it now?"

"Now, don't be a grump," The Handler says, making him walk with her side by side, "I have found you a partner."

Immediately, he retracted, "No. No, I work alone."

"Ah, you know it's inevitable. Every agent must have a partner for a time."

"Given that I am one of your most accomplished agent you've ever acquired, I'd think that rule doesn't apply."

"Come on now." She caresses his cheek. "Be a sport. She's all ready to meet you."

He knew there was no denying it. The Handler was correct in saying that him having a partner was inevitable.
He had just hoped it was someone who was competent enough to keep up with him.

"She's a special snowflake. I've trained her and kept her here just for you."

The Handler had Five follow her through hallways and staircases that not even he was aware of.
She took him below headquarters, below the labs, a very confidential area that not even he has access to.

A thought did pass that she might murder him at any moment.

There she smiled toward a cemented, tough door. Old but incredibly stable enough to hold down a bomb.

Five raised a brow.
This felt like a trick.

The Handler opened the door and let Five have a look for himself.

The man walked in and was shocked to see her. A woman with long brown hair and tanned skin, which highlighted the all white room. She was just sitting down on the floor, eyes shut as if meditating.

The room itself was odd enough. It was all cemented but had all plastic and glass, no one was inside. It was clearly a prison, a cage for this woman. Though he didn't know who was it protecting.

Once the Handler whistled, the woman in the cage's eyes opened wide. Suddenly, Five was pulled straight to the plastic wall. His neck was choking him, he hissed and tried to wiggle himself out of her grasp, but the more he struggled the tighter she had hold of him.

The man looked down to see her hand was softly opened, while staring right at him with a blank expression.

How is this possible, he thought, how the hell is this happening?

"You wear a tie bar, huh," The Handler hums, seeing the small silver tie bar had ripped the tie itself as it rested right on the knot. "I'll get you a new one to celebrate your cooperation."

The woman goes to the pair, a smile wide of her face. "Five, meet Annika Dolores," The Handler states, "this is your new partner."
