Chapter 5- Dabi's love life

Denki's POV:

I decided to get up to get ready for the day ahead of me, and since it was Saturday I didn't have school.

As I was leaving my room I bumped into Shinso who was coming out of his room, which was next to mine.

"Oh.. hey Denki." He said as he jumped to a stop before running into me.

"Hey Shinsou!!" I said back trying to make my voice sound as cheerful as possible like I did with all of my friends.

Shinso then looks at me with a face as if trying to study me, I start to squirm and look away.

"What's wrong" he says in an agitated voice

"N-n-nothing's wrong Shin. Why w-would something be w-wrong?" I chuckled nervously, my eyes darting around the room.

He squints at me, then shakes his head as if dropping the subject.

"Are you going to hang out with the baku squad today?" He says, suddenly finding an interest in the floor.

"Uhh... no. I was thinking of going home and hanging out with my family." I started to sweat a little at the mention of my family.

"Oh..uh- okay. Umm, have fun I guess."

I smile slightly as he turns and walks away. Yeah... fun

I then turn around and start heading for the exit of UA, making my way to the bar which also serves as our home base.

In my opinion, it probably isn't smart to have two underage kids hanging out around a bar but whatever.

As I am about to turn the corner out of UA, I see the Baku Squad asking Shinso if he wants to hang up, and from the looks of it they had been trying for a while.

"Oh! Hey, Kamibro, can you ask Shinso to come and hang out with us!!" Kirishima asked excitedly.

"Umm sorry, I am going to see my sister today, maybe another time," I answered worriedly.

"But you don't have a sister?"

"O-oh my parents just a-adopted her. Y-yeah." At that, I ran off to get away from them and to the bar because at this point I was already late.

As soon as I enter the bar, the bell above the door jingles, telling people that someone is there.

"Oi. Kid, where have you been? You've been gone all day?" Hand-job says as I walk past him to the bar towards Mamagiri.

"None of our crusty dusty business." I shoot back, turning to face him, and giving him a cold glare.

Out of nowhere, Toga starts laughing as she walks in, Dabi falling not too far behind. Then to my surprise, Hawks followed closely behind him.

"What's the bird brain doing here? Isn't he like a cop or something?" I ask, suspicious of why he was here.

"I'm not a cop, I work for the FBI, there is a difference." Hawks responded sounding annoyed.

"Be nice birdie. Also to answer your question as to why he is here...." Dabi pauses and then says something under his breath.

"I'm sorry could you repeat that a little louder Mr. Daddy issues?" Hawks says to him now standing next to him with his arms crossed in front of him and a smirk on his face.

At that, all of us besides Dabi whipped our heads to face them, giving the two of them our full attention while Dabi slapped the back of Hawk's head grumbling about how he hadn't told us about that yet.

"Oops. Sorry love." As soon as he said that he ran towards the door and flew out, just missing being burnt to a crisp by Dabi's flames.

"I swear, I am going to kill that bird one of these days." Dabi then proceeds to try and catch up to the winged man flying off down the street.

Everyone else just sat there staring in confusion as to what had just happened.

"We all heard him say 'love'? Right?" Toga asks slowly.

"Yeah. Welp, he's dead." I say turning back towards the bar.

Everyone nods their head in agreement.
