Kurapika was walking around the school when he noticed a lonely girl reading a book in a school courtyard, he looks at the girl and realizes that she doesn't seem to care if she's alone or not, but Kurapika realizes that he feels attracted and goes up to the girl to talk to her
"Hi, my name is Kurapika."
"hi, i'm y/n"
Kurapika smiles when he sees her answer him - "Nice to meet you y/n, what are you reading?"
"oh nothing special, just the shining" i said looking down at the book title
Kurapika's smile widens as he sees the title of the book - "Ah, the Shining! That's a great book. Stephen King is a talented writer, isn't he?"
i smiled "yeah, he's one of my favorite authors"
Kurapika nodded, impressed - "I'm a big fan of his work as well. He has a unique way of weaving stories that keeps you hooked. So, are you a horror fan?"
i nodded "yeah, i love horror, true crime or anything of that sort" i rubbed the back of my neck
Kurapika's eyes lit up with excitement - "Me too! Horror and true crime are definitely my favorite genres. There's something about the thrill and suspense that just gets my adrenaline pumping."
i looked up at him and smiled softly "me too, i've always been so interested in stuff of that sort, for some reason"
Kurapika chuckled - "I know what you mean. Some people might find it strange, but there's just something about the dark and twisted side of humanity that fascinates me. It's like a morbid curiosity that I can't shake off."
"me too, i mean i like other genres too, i've just always been so invested in that, i like trying to see things from others perspective too you know?"
Kurapika nodded in agreement - "I totally get that. Trying to see things from someone else's perspective is a fascinating concept. It allows us to understand different perspectives and empathize with others. It's one of the reasons why I enjoy true crime so much, because it forces you to think about the human psyche in a different way."
"i just think i like trying to understand other peoples minds, i like to observe rather then be observed"
Kurapika chuckled softly - "That's a good way to put it. Observing rather than being observed can give you a lot of insight into someone's personality and behavior. It's a great skill to have, especially if you're interested in psychology."
"thanks, i'd like to think so" i smiled, messing with the rim of my book
Kurapika chuckled -"You definitely have the look of someone who would make a great psychologist. You seem to have a good understanding of human behavior and psychology. I'm sure you'd be great at helping people with their problems."
"i like trying to help people" i laughed
Kurapika smiled warmly - "That's admirable. Helping people is a noble cause. I can tell that you're a kind person, y/n"
"thank you" i looked up from my book and smiled at him
Kurapika returned the smile, feeling a sense of warmth in his chest - "You're welcome. It's always nice to meet someone who cares about others. It's a rare quality these days."
"somebody needs to, i've always felt sympathetic for others"
Kurapika nodded in agreement - "Sympathy is definitely a trait that's lacking in this world. It's refreshing to see someone who genuinely cares about others and wants to make a difference. You're definitely doing something special, y/n.:"
"i like to, i know how it feels to not have anybody understand you, so i want to understand others"
Kurapika's expression softened as he listened to y/n's words. He could sense the sincerity in her voice - "I can imagine that must be difficult. It's admirable that you want to be there for others and help them feel understood. I think that's a beautiful quality to have."
