Snape's Detention

Monday morning seems to slap you right in the face the moment you wake up. More classes, more homework, less fun. Not only that, but your first class of the day after breakfast is Potions. It would be much easier if Snape hadn't been biased toward everyone besides his "loyal" Slytherins. First, however, you had the luxury of eating breakfast.

After waking up, you walked by yourself to the Great Hall, since Marietta and Cho decided to walk without you, ten minutes before you woke up. You couldn't help but hope that Fred and George would show up like they did yesterday. Well,Fred mostly, George was just an added person in the equation. Not that you hated him, he was brilliantly funny like his twin, but it's hard to get farther in a "flirtationship" when someone else is around.

On the way, you heard loud footsteps running toward you and you ignored it at first until you felt someone walking right along next to you.

"Hi, (Y/N)." You finally decided to look and smiled brightly to see Leanne. You didn't know her very well, but she was a very good acquaintance when needed. A very good friend of Katie Bell's, you know she could be trusted at least a little.

"Hello, Leanne!" You replied quickly, watching her eyes brighten as you acknowledged her.

"Are you excited for Potions today? Because I know I am!" She said, sarcasm dripping from her words as she gave a half smile.

"Well, of course! Who doesn't want to cut up pigs feet and smash poisonous june-bugs?" You smirked, entering the crowded Hall with her.

She sighed and stopped, dropping the act. "See you there." Leanne started toward the Hufflepuff table. Thank goodness you didn't have Potions with the Slytherins, because then half the class would be treated like less-than-nothing-peasants.

When you walked over to the blue table, you squinted your eyes slightly to see where Cho was. She wasn't sitting where you both usually do, but at the end of the table. Oh, and look, there's Marietta, the reason behind her moving, probably. You sigh in disgust, moving to go sit by some of your Quidditch mates. You wouldn't prefer this, because Roger Davies was still here, but he acted casual.

Five minutes later, halfway through your fruit salad, you heard a whisper and flicked your eyes to the left, where Chambers was talking to Davies. Roger met your gaze and Chambers stopped talking immediately.

"(Y/N), can we please talk?" He asked, leaning across two people to get nearer to you.

You weren't in the mood to chat with someone who you declined a date proposal to, but you were also trying to be forgiving. Who knows what would happen if you were a complete jerk to him? Probably be kicked off the Quidditch team, and you certainly didn't want that.

"Fine, but make it quick." You hissed. He stood up and you were slightly surprised that he wanted to take this out into the corridor. You tried to walk as quickly as possible with him as to make it go by faster. Time flies when you're waiting for something horrible to happen- and in your case, that would be potions. Hopefully, this would be faster than a snap.

"I would like to formally apologize for what I said to you. I should have realized that you weren't in a good mood and I am sorry for making that comment about... 'The Red River'" He said monotonously, pausing before the last coded word.

"Wow, I can truly tell that you are sincere, you must have repeated this to yourself so many times that the apology lost all meaning." You smirked at your own remark, crossing your arms. Sure, you were upset, but why not have a little fun with this? You saw his eyebrows begin to raise and he himself was trying to contain his evergrowing smile.
