Tyler and you had been friends for a while, almost 5 years to the date, he was the person you told everything to, the person you could stay up all night with, the person you could spend hours in silence with. You noticed a few years ago that he stopped dating, stopped sleeping around, and stopped flirting with everyone he knew, strangely, it was about the time you two became friends. You only thought about it for a few seconds, and never brought it up to him.

One night you asked Tyler to come to your house because you wanted to tell him something, he seemed surprisingly excited over text, and pretty nervous and jittery when he got to your house. You both went into your room and sat on the bed and started talking "Alright, Tyler, I have something I need to tell you, I think it's gonna make you really happy." You said, he smiled and motioned for you to continue "ok, I finally got a girlfriend, kinda, we just went on a few dates but we really like each other!" You said, talking so quickly out of excitement you could barley understand yourself, but he could. He looked less exited when you told him that, but he congratulated you any ways and looked at his phone, obviously pretending to get a text as a way to excuse himself and leave.

Later that night when you were laying in bed you started thinking about the interaction earlier. You wondered if you said something that got him upset, or why he was so excited before you told him. As you thought, it started to sound like he had a crush on you or something, but that was insane, he was your best friend, and you eventually fell asleep. In the morning you looked to see if Tyler had texted you like he normally does, but he didn't, your girlfriend did, "gm babe" was all she said, but you responded with "good morning baby ❤❤❤" she was kinda a dry texter, and a dry talker, she wasn't like Tyler, he wasn't dry.

That night you had a date planed with your girlfriend, before you left, Tyler texted you, asking if you wanted to come over to play video games, but you had to go on a date, but he seemed fine with it, right? Whatever, he's not what's important right now. You liked your girlfriend up and drove in silence to the restaurant you were going, she was on her phone the whole time, and when you two got there, she had a little argument with the waitress about where to sit because it had the best lighting, but she just wanted nice pictures. When you two got your food after about 30 minutes, she started complaining about how it took so long and started taking pictures of her food.

When the date was done, she had barley eaten anything, complained the whole time, and you too barley got to talk at all. I know she sounds bad, but you told Tyler she was great so she must be. You drove her home and drove a few houses down before you stopped the car and started thinking, just sitting in silence. After a few minutes you pulled out you phone and started writing out a text to Tyler, but everytime it sounded stupid, you wrote that sentence at least 10 times before you have up and just went home.

That next morning you looked at your phone, hoping for a text from your girlfriend, or Tyler, that would be nice too. But you got one from neither, so, you just want back to bed. Until you woke up again, it was almost 12:30 AM, and you had no new notifications, except from Snapchat that said "remember this? 2/7/19”
Your birthday, and it showed a picture from your birthday of you and Tyler with your face smashed into a cake while Tyler laughed and held your head. Not the best way to start your day right now. You finally got up and pulled on a white t-shirt.

You kept your phone in your room as you wandered to the bathroom and started brushing your teeth, your mind almost completely blank except for one thing, what the hell is happening to our friendship? But then you thought of your girlfriend, your amazing, beautiful and caring, girlfriend, and what she's doing? We're gonna go on another date? No, you aren't, she doesn't want to she told you last night, it was the only conversation you had with her that night but wasn't it amazing?

The day seemed to flash by in an instant, but maybe it was because you slept in almost all day, and before you knew it, you were back in your bed, you phone on your nightstand, and your eyes occasionally flicking over to the screen hoping for a text from your girlfriend, or maybe Tyler. But soon your over thinking tired you out and you fell asleep, and into dream that made you reconsider everything.

It was so pink, until the world started to form in, but it was all black and white, like an old picture against a sunset, and your eyes soon focused on Tyler standing with his back to you staring at a large gothic castle, you, being a big horror movie fan knew the castle by heart, it was from Frankincense's monster, it looked out of place in the scenic view of the rest of the world, Tyler turned to you and looked at you with a dazed expression, his earrings shining under the white sun, the black and white of his body expanding until black took up my whole vision, an annoying, out of tune note playing in your ears, until you woke up.

It was 3:00 AM and your whole room was black, like the dream, it had been almost 3 days since you had a conversation with Tyler longer than 12 words, why was he in your dream? You didn't know, but it didn't matter much, he was upset at you anyway, but he did wanna play video games, so maybe he isn't? But the beconing call of sleep soon took over and you were once back in the darkness, but it didn't have the same feeling as the one from your dream, it felt... Lonely.

When you finish got up at a reasonable time, your phone was blowing up with notifications from Twitter and Tiktok, talking about a new music album, one by Tyler. You knew his music career was going good, and you knew he loved to make music, but this one was sudden, and familiar. The album was pink, with a black and white Tyler in the middle, looking just how he did in your dream, and the name, Igor, was from Frankenstein's monster, the name on the old henchmen that was almost just a shadow to Frankenstein, just a helper that wasn't important.

Me being Tyler's best friend, I got on Spotify and listened to it, it was good, very good, but the situation he was singing about seemed too personal, like it was happening to me right now, because it was, it was about me.
