Lock's POV:
--
Waking up in an unfamiliar place, I was disoriented and my head throbbed. I could barely see anything- oh wait, my eyes were just closed. I'm actually unconscious...'If I'm unconscious, where is my body right now? I can't stay like this forever... I need to wake up quickly!' I thought.
I realized I was in a lucid dream; being aware of my sleep state made that clear. I tried everything to wake myself up...exploring this void, bashing my head into the ground.....but nothing worked.
"F*ck..." I muttered in frustration, finding the situation infuriating. As I struggled to recall what had happened before I fell asleep, a flashback suddenly hit me.
*
Standing on the podium, I could feel Hecate's quiet sobs beside me. She had fallen into a pit of despair after the recent events. I couldn't help but feel a mix of sympathy and disappointment toward my twin sister. While Onyx conversed with the Eye, I was left to listen passively, unable to intervene.I glanced at my sister. She was still crying softly, weighed down by guilt and fear over what she had done and the punishment she anticipated.
"O̴̧̍͂̎͋̚͝͝ ̵̢̨̔̾͒̿͋͝r̷̡̘̝̙̼̎̃̌̓̚i̷̢͙͇̦̺̼̒͆͛̀0̶̢̛̺̝̳̮̯͎́̆̏́̽͗ ̷͖͓̣́̎̿͂̾̍͜ͅn̵͉͙̽͗̑̕ ̷͖͖̞̼̻͆1̷̢͎̗̱̭̒$̴̢̙͔̤̯̏͗̑.̵̙̪̮̬̮̣̙̎.̸̬̜̙̳̤̣̋̕.̴̨̭̯̲̜̜̐̽̾̎̇" Miss Bara's voice interrupted my thoughts.
I turned to her. Her snake-like eyes studied me with an unreadable expression. Bara was known for her grace and mischievous demeanor. Despite her usual playful nature, she was currently maintaining a serious demeanor.
"O̴̧̍͂̎͋̚͝͝ ̵̢̨̔̾͒̿͋͝r̷̡̘̝̙̼̎̃̌̓̚i̷̢͙͇̦̺̼̒͆͛̀0̶̢̛̺̝̳̮̯͎́̆̏́̽͗ ̷͖͓̣́̎̿͂̾̍͜ͅn̵͉͙̽͗̑̕ ̷͖͖̞̼̻͆1̷̢͎̗̱̭̒$̴̢̙͔̤̯̏͗̑!" She called out my name again. "Aren't you worried? It seems you're about to lose all your powers and face execution..." Bara's concern was evident in her voice, though her eyes betrayed a hint of sadne-
"Well, you seem remarkably calm, so perhaps you're not afraid of dying. In that case, it's a pleasure to meet you, friend." she said with a nonchalant smile, her true nature peeking through her façade of concern.
She's the worst... I glared at the woman.
"What's with the sudden silence? I told you how I felt about your upcoming punishment..." Bara said, raising her hand to her mouth with a look of mock shock. I could tell she was trying to belittle the situation...
Hecate's punishment for her sins was losing me, her brother. Now, she was left to watch as I faced execution, and her tears only seemed to deepen the irony of her sorrow.
The Eye then called out to my sister after Onyx instructed everyone to return to their podiums. "C̴̺͎̤̝̱̮͉̟̞͔̺̝͘y̴̨̼̘̯̰͕̳̱̩̟͋̍̀̓g̴̡̛̭̰̻̥̭̻͔̭̰͜͜n̵̛͉̒̅͒͆͛̌̀̓̕͘a̶̧̛̻̼̫̘̙̝̗͉͎͔̖̼͗͌͆͒͛̒̾̂̒́͐͝͝ͅr̵̙̰̯̳͈͔͍̰͇̊̈́́̚̚͝â̴̢̩͕͕̝̝̹̠͖̥̖͂͛͋̏͐̇̋̑́͛͘͠." Hecate looked up at the statue from which the Eye's voice emanated.
"....."
"....."
Silence enveloped us.
