(Figured that I would start with a simple character! More characters coming soon!)

"If my professor drops my essay a letter grade again because I "didn't go to tutoring-" heavy emphasis on the air quotes here- I'm going to lose my mind. I'm literally an English tutor! That being said, maybe she's onto something; after all, sometimes you have to consult the realest in the room.. Or something. I dunno, I just work here."

- Nickname(s): "Olivé;" a nickname given to him by some old high school friends after a brief, somewhat unsuccessful phase where he tried to learn French.

(I tried to find a real-life appearance but I feel weird about using real people as the faceclaim. I tried using "thispersondoesnotexist" until it popped out something good but it didn't happen. Sorry :'(  |   )

- Height: 5'10.

- Build/Body Type: A bit on the leaner side due to a less-than-ideal college student diet, but still solid, toned, and healthy.

- Eye Color: Ocean Blue.

- Hair Color/Style: A bit unkempt with longer-than-average bangs.

- Skin Tone: Fair-skinned.

- Distinguishing Features (tattoos, scars, etc.): A burn on his left hand due to a cooking accident, and a few miscellaneous scars scattered around his body from childhood accidents; crashing a bike, falling on a glass table, and other such mishaps.

- Clothing Style: Oliver dresses pretty casually, typically sporting a light sweater or a polo shirt of varying colors, blue or black jeans, as well as black and white Adidas sneakers. He also typically wears a black leather necklace with a locket at the end, a gift from his mother. He also wears a simple watch with a silver face and black leather strap. While at work as a tutor, he wears a white button-down shirt and well-fitted black jeans, as well as black leather dress shoes. He sports his wristwatch and necklace from his normal outfit, but the necklace is tucked away while working.

-Personality Description: Oliver is a pretty easy-going and friendly guy at his core, always willing to lend a hand to those who need it. He's a rather well-organized person who has his priorities straight, and is motivated to achieve his goals in life. He's very vocal and is not at all afraid to speak his mind, which does come back to bite him in the ass at times. Despite typically pure intentions, he'll sometimes speak before thinking, particularly when he's around someone he doesn't like or someone that makes him nervous; at the very least, there's never any guessing as to how he feels about someone. He's very articulate and is a great debater, which has gotten him into trouble before as well.

However, as with most people, he isn't without his share of flaws. Oliver stresses easily and tends to worry about the little things way more than he should; strict "are you doctor yet" parents have much to do with this. He's overly perfectionistic, and if something isn't going just right, it can stress him out immensely. Fortunately, the stress doesn't manifest into anger; however, the feelings of hopelessness he experiences aren't a much better alternative. He also doesn't tend to take criticism- at least of the academic variety- well at all. It isn't that he thinks he's perfect, it's more that he's heard such criticisms from his parents his whole life. Lord knows that he doesn't want to hear it as an adult. That may be the one thing that can get an angry reaction out of him. He also does struggle with feelings of self-doubt, worthlessness, and overall reservedness, finding it very difficult to confide in his fellow man about personal issues and feelings.

- Likes: Reading and writing, language studies, working as a tutor, jazz, coffee, jogging, and oddly enough, cooking.

- Dislikes: Confrontation, chaotic environments, disorganization, inauthentic people, and this one's a big one for him; fast food.

- Fears: Failure and just not being "good enough" in general- he's spent his entire life trying to make others happy, and the inability to do so worries him. While not exactly being afraid of not fitting in, a fear of being judged still lives in his heart. He's someone who's always liked to "stay in the shadows," at least socially- off the radar, if you will. A negative reputation or judgement from others would make his life so much worse, at least emotionally. He's also afraid of isolation, or ending up alone. Life's been much lonelier ever since he moved for college thanks to the lack of friends and family, and the feeling of ending up totally alone is soul-crushing.

- Habits/Quirks: Oliver tends to keep a sort of routine going; he sets time aside daily to read, starts his day with a coffee, goes for a run daily, draws a bit in his spare time, and cooks nearly every meal for himself due to a lack of funds. Starbucks is the only place you can catch him ordering something consumable, thanks to his love of coffee.

-Backstory: Oliver grew up relatively normally in a small town, living a cushy life with two siblings and two (mostly) loving parents. Being the oldest child, his parents raised the bar high for their first-born. Despite Oliver's intelligence and academic prowess, nothing ever seemed to be good enough for them. Anytime he'd meet their expectations, they'd move the goalpost and deprive him of the love a parent should give their child, essentially giving him the cold shoulder until he met whatever new expectation they came up with. Years of this led to resentment and even some emotional issues for the college student, something he hasn't worked through or even acknowledged as he reached adulthood. School life was pretty standard for Oliver; he usually had his nose in a book and stayed out of the spotlight, preferring to keep a small circle of close friends instead of many distant ones. He was once invited to try out to track after a coach saw him sprinting to catch his bus home after it took off without him, but he didn't join due to a lack of interest. However, it at least sparked up his interest in running, hence why he jogs daily now. As soon as Oliver turned 18, he got a full ride scholarship to a big-city university. However, this was much to his parents' dismay, since it wasn't an ivy league school; once again, not good enough. Oliver moved out as soon as he could and hasn't spoken to his parents since, preferring to protect his peace as he got through college. His love of language and affinity for books allowed to him to get a job as a tutor, where he makes just enough money to rent a small apartment and feed himself at least halfway-decent home-cooked meals.

-Family/Friends: Two parents, two siblings, all alive. No friends in college, but a few from his hometown.

- Skills/Talents: Oliver has a natural knack for linguistics, making for a great writer who could likely learn many languages if he had the confidence. He's a half-decent cook and quick on his feet both mentally and physically, as well as a good artist. Additionally, he's a naturally fantastic teacher due to his patience and empathy, never making someone feel rushed or useless in their endeavors.

- Hobbies: Oliver loves reading, writing, drawing, and researching extinct and dead languages in his free time. He's a "four-star chef" as one of his old friends called him, finding some joy in cooking. While not even remotely a gym rat, he does enjoy going for runs to stay in shape; and although far from a barista, he likes attempting coffee art. He's not good at it, but it's something he enjoys.

- Languages Spoken: English, A bit of French, and some Latin.

- Life Goals: Oliver would love to become an author after graduating, but knowing that's probably unrealistic, he plans on becoming an English professor after graduation.

-Theme Song: "I'll Walk Alone" - Louis Armstrong

(Sorry that he's not super fleshed-out, I'm still getting in the swing of things. :)
