"Is that a threat?" I shot back.
"Did it sound like a compliment?" he said.
Bastard.
"You can't do this," I said, my voice hardening. "I have a surgery scheduled in a few days, and it's crucial."
He didn't even flinch. "Too bad, I already did it."
If I had to grovel in front of this monster to keep my promise, then so be it. My ego be damned.
Swallowing my pride, I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry for everything. Please forgive me." I begged, my voice filled with desperation.
His smirk widened, a slow, cruel curl of his lips. He said nothing, just watched me.
"I'll do whatever you say," I added.
"Anything?" he asked, like he was toying with me. I nodded.
"Get on your knees." His voice was cruel, a sharp edge cutting through the air. I froze, my heart hammering in my chest as I stared at him in disbelief.
"What?" I asked in disbelief.
"Get on your knees and beg for it," he repeated, his gaze locked onto mine.
The nerve. How far did he think he could push me?
"Did you really think you could intimidate me?" I paused. "Let me tell you something, Dr. Abhimanyu Rawat, I'm not scared of you—or anyone."
"Good," he murmured, his voice dropping to a lethal whisper. "If you weren't afraid before, you'll learn to be."
His eyes darkened as he closed the distance between us. The room felt smaller, the walls closing in as he approached. My breath hitched, but I held my ground, refusing to back down.
"Dr. Abhimanyu Rawat," I said, my voice steady despite the chaos inside me, "do whatever you think you need to, and I'll do what I believe is right."
He moved even closer that I could feel the heat radiating from his body. His fingers brushed against my arm, a touch as cold as ice, before slowly sliding down to grasp my wrist, his grip firm, possessive.
A shiver ran down my spine.
His gaze never left mine as he lifted my hand in the air. "Take a good look at the date and time," he growled, pointing at my watch. "Because this is the moment you've stepped into hell. My personal hell. And I'll make sure you suffer for every second of it."
I leaned closer to him and whispered in his ear. "Try me."
