You walked along the worn down path. The sound of gentle, rustling leaves and distant Hoo's kept you company, the only annoying part or your trip, was the constant movement of the map in front of you.
You weren't usually bad at reading maps, but the horrible hand writing and smudging of the ink made it hard to read. You couldn't tell the difference between rivers and roads. You groaned in irritation.
Y/N : "At this rate I won't get there until the 5th moon."
You looked at the map trying to see the brown lines through the dim starlight. You stopped, looking around at the split path. One looked recently used and the other was sort of overgrown.
You looked back down at your map and decided to go left, down the recently used road. You walked along it noticing how the land seemed to dip down, the sound of rushing water caught your ears. You looked over to your left and saw the water rushing next to you.
You also noticed how it cut across the path in front of you.
Y/N : "Dead end really!? It continues in the other side but theirs no way I can cross that! It looks at least waist deep-. . . Maybe I can use the other path- AH!"
The rushing water had blocked out the noise from around you, so you hadn't noticed the steps that crept up behind you. A bag was placed around your head blocking your vision, and a towel was forced into your mouth to silence you.
All you could do was struggle.
Your arms were grabbed and forced behind you, the back of your legs were kicked, forcing you to the ground. The feeling of something hitting your head made your body crumble entirely to the earth. The pain in your head grew until you went unconscious.
??? 1 : "Humans are so dumb, they always pick the easiest path."
??? 2 : "their more like sheep if you ask me."
??? 1 : "well I didn't, but your right. All we needed to do was use some earth magic to make the other path look un usable, easiest catch of the day."
Their hackles almost echoed through the woods as you laid limp on one of their shoulders. They continued their discussion as they walked back to their camp.
??? 2 : "It was a girl right? They sell more."
??? 1 : "Gots to be, her voice sure sounded like it. Couldn't see the face though, at least the body's good."
??? 2 : "You think she tastes good?"
??? 1 : "What have we talked about! We can't eat the merchandise, besides, people have stopped traveling at night so we're running low, us Orcs still gotta make a living. Now shut your trap, we're almost there."
They walked through the bushes to a clearing in the woods. In the middle sat a tall fire. Tents were scattered and horses were tied to trees. There were noticeable cages, some empty, some filled with animals, but one had people in it. It was a caged wagon that only had a few people, but people nonetheless.
You were put into a separate cage, one that sat on the ground. The bag over your head was ruffly removed. A torch was held up to you as your face was revealed.
??? 2 : "OH! She's a pretty one! Think we can even double the price?"
??? 1 : "Now your thinking, I just hope I didn't bonk her to hard on the head, would want it to swell up."
