After the lecture that Mr Aizawa gave the class, he gave everyone permission to finally get to know Unmei, which resulted in Izuku bolting towards her and bombarding her with tons of questions, his notebook in hand.

"How does it feel when you use your quirk? How did it manifest? What's your family's history regarding quirks?" Izuku's chipper attitude takes her by surprise, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips. "Do you have any scars from your quirk or does it not scar you at all? What even is your quirk?" Momo sighed, standing next to Unmei's desk with an apologetic smile as Katsuki yells at him to shut up. Unmei eventually spoke up above Izuku's questioning, a brow raised.

"Is he always like this?" She questions Momo, confused. "It's kinda overwhelming." Izuku immediately stops and apologises, putting his notebook down.

"Sorry! I'm just curious about you," He apologises, bowing slightly before looking at her and smiling. "My name is Izuku Midoriya! I probably should've started with an introduction of my own."

"I'm Momo Yaoyorozu," Speaks Momo, smiling at Unmei sweetly. "It's nice to meet you." One by one, each member of her class introduces themselves, with Minoru being the last to do so.

"Minoru Mineta," He says, waving slightly before pointing to her. "You're cute, you've got an athletic bod, too. That's hot." The girls grimace at him, while Unmei leanes back a bit in shock.

"Uh..." She hesitates as Denki slaps the balls on Minoru's head. "Thank you...?"

The bell rings and the class leaves for lunch, with Unmei talking to Izuku and explaining briefly how her quirk works and showing him the star-shaped scars on her hands and fingertips, sparking Izuku to scribble in his notebook with stars in his eyes.

After grabbing her lunch, Unmei sits on the same table as Mezo, Minoru, Mina and Kyoka — while the rest of Class 1A are scattered elsewhere in the cafeteria. As they chat away and get to know Unmei more, Unmei feels an unwelcome presence behind her, making her turn her head and—

"Oh, it's you," They seem to say in Unison as their eyes meet. Unmei rolls her eyes as him as he approaches with an arrogant smirk.

"Uh," Hums a confused Minoru, "Who's that?"

"Nice to see you again, Mei," The dude teases, making Unmei scowl slightly.

"I told you to call me by my last name from now on, Monoma," She hisses softly, before turning to her new friends. "This is Neito Monoma. We dated in middle school for about a year."

Minoru almost chokes on his food as he gasps and asks, "YOU SCORED THIS CUTIE AND LOST HER?!" This earns him a bop on the head from Mina, who hisses at him to shut up. Neito snorts, rather amused at his rival classes' surprise.

"A cutie? Sure, you may be right in that aspect, but Hoshi here was so sensitive to anything," Neito begins, trying to tell them how much of a crybaby Unmei was. "Not to mention she'd cry whenever Halloween season rolled aro-!!"

Unmei whacks him upside the head before he can get the chance to speak further, rendering him unconscious as a ginger haired girl grips him by the back of his collar so he wouldn't fall. She smiles at Unmei, thankful that she didn't have to do that herself.

"I guess you don't need me to tell you he does that a lot, huh? I'm Itsuka Kendo, by the way," Itsuka introduces herself, keeping her grip tight on Neito.

"Unmei Hoshi," Unmei responds, smiling back. "I'm guessing you're in the same class as him? He's quite the handful." At this, Itsuka laughs lightly.

"He already is! God knows how many times he's pissed our homeroom teacher off," Unmei and Itsuka both giggle before Itsuka leaves, dragging Neito to the infirmary. As Unmei goes back to her food, Mina speaks up with a grin.

"So... Your ex, huh?"

"What was it like with him?" Asks Kyoka, raising a brow.

"You dated an egoist?" Mezo questions with one of his dupli-mouths, making Unmei snicker.

"Was he your first ki--"

Mezo gently puts one of his hands over Minoru's mouth before the little one can finish the sentence. Their questions amuse Unmei, but also made her realise that she's got a lot of explaining to do. With a sigh, Unmei begins to explain.

"We met in middle school, obviously, but we didn't get together until I was about 12 years old, and it lasted about a year..." She tells the story as if it happened yesterday, captivating her new friends in an instant as she has a flashback while speaking.

Holding hands as they walk down the hallway, Unmei chats away, oblivious to what was to come. Neito stares at her with a smile, before his eyes dart to one of his friends. Deciding that he's annoyed, Neito stops walking.

"Nei? What's wrong?" Unmei questions, turning to him with concern. Neito grimaces slightly.

"Is your Dad all you talk about?" He suddenly asks, his tone mocking. Unmei freezes. "Surely you can think of a different topic — hearing about your dead Dad all the time is boring."

His friends laugh as they watch Unmei's face drop, mocking her for not being over her Dad's death despite it being 3 years since he died. Neito feels his heart drop, his lips twitching into a genuine frown of remorse. the regret he feels is instant, but he can't apologise. Instead, he just stands there,  wiping the frown on his face and continuing with a slight stutter.

"Honestly," He continues, a nervous grin on his face. "How are you gonna be a Hero if you cry about your Dad all the time? It's been three years — get over it! Now, c'mon. Let's get lunch--" He reaches out for her hand, but she pulls away, making his blue eyes dart to her face. The look of pure anger and heartbreak in Unmei's eyes make him realise that this time, he's taken his teasing too far. The laughter from his friends didn't make things better, as Unmei's tears fall down her face faster than he's ever seen.

Choking back a sob, Unmei lifts her hand and takes the bracelet that Neito made for her off with ease, before throwing it to his feet and running away. His friends laugh harder, mocking her as she runs off, but Neito just stares at the bracelet blankly. Picking it up, he wears it on his own wrist, matching the bracelet that Unmei had made for him.

"He never apologised to me," Back to the present, Unmei finishes recalling what happened that day, and the silence at the table is deafening.

"What an asshole!" Mina suddenly exclaims, startling them all.

"I know, right?! That's how we broke up, too! But he wasn't like that when his friends weren't around," Unmei explains further, sighing.

"So he was just trying to impress people," Mezo points out with a hum. "But got too into his own head and hurt you in return — and you're saying he never apologised for that?" Unmei shakes her head but shrugs.

"I'm over it," She states simply. "I'm more annoyed by him now. Besides, he hasn't spoken bad about my Dad since." The bell rings, signifying the end of lunch. Kyoka and Unmei chat away as they all walk to class, distracting them all from Neito's immaturity for a moment. As they're walking to class, the schools' siren blares through the already crowded hallway, making the students severely panic and try to push past everyone to get to safety. Seeing something fly above their heads make them look up, only to find Tenya above the fire-exist sign and yell at everyone to relax.

"It's just the press! The school isn't under attack," He continues. Unmei and Kyoka sigh in relief before looking at each other and giggling at how silly he looks before finally returning to class.
