Psalm 27:1
"The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life. of whom shall I be afraid?"As Cameron found himself suddenly transported to the human realm, he felt a shiver run down his spine as the cool night air embraced his exposed form. He looked down at his bare body, realizing for the first time that his lack of clothing was likely to cause quite a stir among the mortals. "Oh dear," he muttered to himself, suddenly feeling a sense of vulnerability he had never experienced before. He had lived his entire existence in the heavens, unashamed and unabashed, but now in the human realm, it seemed that clothing was a necessity he hadn't anticipated. Cameron glanced around, taking in his surroundings. He was situated in a secluded park, and thankfully, there didn't seem to be anyone nearby to witness his nude state.
With a mixture of embarrassment and determination, Cameron took a deep breath and focused his divine power. In an instant, a radiant glow enveloped his body, and before his eyes, his once bare form was now adorned with a simple, white robe, flowing like a heavenly garment.
"Well," he murmured to himself, adjusting the fabric to fit comfortably around his wings, "that should do the trick." He looked down at his robed form, feeling a sense of relief mixed with curiosity. He had never worn clothing before, and the feeling was both foreign and strangely comfortable. With a newfound sense of caution, Cameron ventured onward, walking across the darkened park path. The world of mortals seemed so vast and foreign compared to the celestial realm he was used to. Streetlights flickered, casting a soft glow on the surroundings, and the sounds of the night filled his ears—rustlings in the bushes, the distant hum of city life, and the soft hoots of an owl hidden in a tree.
As he continued to explore, Cameron found himself marveling at the strange, beautiful creatures that populated the human world. The flutter of a bat's wings as it swooped through the night sky, the stealthy prowl of a cat stalking a mouse in the shadows, and the gentle rustle of leaves as the wind whispered through the trees. It was all so fascinating and new to the sheltered seraphim.
He moved through the park, his footsteps making no sound, as if the very ground beneath him was made for his silent tread. Every now and then, he caught glimpses of a city in the distance, but he was drawn to the quieter, more natural surroundings of the park. As Cameron continued through the park, he couldn't help but notice the curious glances of the mortals around him. Some were clearly intrigued by his foreign appearance, their whispers and murmurs barely audible in the night air. One group of young mortals pointed at him, chattering among themselves. "Isn't that robe he's wearing like the ones the Chinese wear?" one of them whispered to her friend. Another added, "Yeah, and his face looks Russian to me. Where is he from anyway?"
Others stared and pointed at his robe, which seemed to radiate a soft, otherworldly glow in the dim light. A pair of elderly women walking their dogs gasped as they saw Cameron, mumbling to each other. "Look at that, Gertrude. That robe looks like it's from an old, wise religion," one exclaimed. The other nodded, her eyes widening. "You're right, Mabel. It's like he's straight out of a monastery or something."
Cameron, overhearing the whispers and speculations, felt a pang of confusion. He was used to the celestial realm where there was only one religion, and the mortals' talk about different practices and beliefs seemed foreign to him. As the words "wise religion" echoed in his ears, he couldn't help but furrow his brow, wondering what could possibly be wise about anything other than the will of the divine.
Cameron's thoughts were filled with questions and doubts. He knew that Father was the creator of all, the one true deity in the heavens. So why, he pondered, did mortals feel the need to have multiple religions and beliefs? As his eyes scanned the surroundings, he wondered if there was something lacking in their relationship with Father. Perhaps they were unhappy or seeking something different. But the very notion seemed inconceivable to him. Father was all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-loving.
