" You can count on me, like one two three...." Eshanya's melodious voice rang out in the huge room.

Tanvi smiled ruefully as her gaze flickered down to the cuts on her wrist.

Eshanya was pressed to her breaking point as she continued to sing, strumming the guitar.

" Esha...I'm sorry." She murmured, ashamed of herself and her actions.

Eshanya let out a shaky sigh and turned her face away.

Sighing, Yashasvi got up and took the guitar away from her and tilted her chin so she could look up at him.

" That's enough." He told her softly and she broke down, bursting into heart-wrenching sobs, her head laying on his shoulder as he hesitantly patted her.

" Calm down...take a deep breath..calm down. Count to ten." He murmured, his voice a comforting echo.

Tears streaming down Tanvi's cheeks.

" I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She cried, sitting beside her and Eshanya moved away from Yashasvi and put her arms around Tanvi.

" Bitch." She said, as she continued to cry as she hit her lightly.

" I didn't want to. I swear I didn't. But then they returned. And...and the nightmares returned."

The door burst open and an anxious Abhay rushed in, and pulled Tanvi towards himself as he examined her cuts.

" Are you stupid? Who does that? Have you lost it? How could you hurt yourself like that? Did you think before taking that step? How would your grandparents feel? How would Eshanya feel? How would I feel?"

Her lips puckered out, tears welling up in her big brown orbs and she broke into sobs.

" I'm sorry." She sniffled.

" Hey hey hey—calm down please calm down, I-I was just...worried. Please don't cry. Please." His voice a mere whisper, he wiped her tears as she put her arms around him without a second thought and cried bitterly.

Abhay's heart broke hearing the heart wrenching sobs as he tried his best consoling her.

Yashasvi and Abhay exchanged a helpless look as they comforted the crying girls.

With great difficulty, Yashasvi managed to take Esha away, leaving the two of them alone.

" I'm sorry." She murmured again.

" Tanvi...what were you thinking?" He asked, a hurt expression marred on his face and she looked down.

" They...they came back. And...and I had nightmares again. Lu-luckily....I had my guards to keep them at bay, but...but...I couldn't forget all that mental torture they put me through. I'm sorry Abhay, I'm so sorry." Tears kept streaming down her cheeks as he moved forward and she immediately put her arms around him, holding onto him as she cried bitterly.

" You're okay. It's going to be okay." He muttered repeatedly, like it was a mantra as he patted her back, letting her hold him.

" Abhay..." her voice came out muffled and broken her face still buried in his chest,

He hummed in response, letting her know he was listening.

" You won't ever leave me, right?" She asked pulling away, her doe orbs, usually cold appeared vulnerable today, and it Abhay's heart broke yet again.

He forcefully shook his head.
" Never."

" You...you mean it right? Mumma and Dad, said they won't too....but they did. They left me all alone with those people. You won't do the same right?"

" No Tanvi. I'm here to stay, not to leave." He murmured wiping her tears with the pad of his thumb.

" You're not lying?"

He shook his head,
" No. I'm telling you the truth."

" You promise?"

" I promise sweetheart. Now I need you, Miss Grumpyface to stop crying."

She scrunched her nose at the nickname.

" I'm not grumpy!"

Chuckling, he arched a brow.

" Then give me a smile."

She pressed a weary smile on her lips and Abhishek clicked his tongue in disapproval.

" Itni rukhi sukhi smile? Give me a proper smile! Amarya will be very upset if she finds out her Tani was crying."

Tanvi tried yet again, but failed miserably, and Abhay's slender fingers tapped on her waist, and in swift movements, he began tickling her.

" Abhay no, Abhay stop...Abhayyyy!" She whined trying to push him away, and burst into giggles amidst her tears.

Abhay smiled seeing her giggle, a soft glimmer etched wide across his lips.

He hated seeing her cry, and her laughing could turn into his favorite view some day, and he was sure about it.

" Your laughter is enough to light up an entire room." He murmured, his voice a mere whisper as her giggles echoed in the room, not really having heard him.

Eshanya slowly opened the door as peeped in through the slight crack, a soft smile playing on her lips watching the two happy.

All she wanted, was her best-friend to be happy, and with Abhay, she knew she could definitely be happiest person.

There were no doubts about that.
